章 3: Chapter 3 - The Truth of the Past
By the time her parents left, Rose was already inside with her door tightly shut and bottled. After some time, she heard a heavy knocked on her door, it was her uncle; she quickly ran and heed herself in the closet. He kept on knocking, hitting the door; when no one answered, he left.
She remained in the closet for hours, then her stomach groaned, she was hungry; she was going bear it, at least until morning but when it started to groan louder she stood up; there was food in the kitchen, she thought, she could make a quick break for it.
Slowly she opened the door so that they won't be any noise. Everywhere was quiet; she looked from left to right, stood in place for some minute, when no one came; she ran downstairs.
Now in the kitchen, she hurried to the cabinet; where the food was, brought out a little bag and quickly pushed some food inside, took some bottle of water and dashed to her room.
Two door way before hers, Grace Head some rusty sound coming from her parent's bedroom, despite the fact that she was scared to death; her tiny leg carried her to the room.
When she pushed the half opened door wide, there was her uncle and Mrs. Lola searching the room, there were papers, cloths, jewelries scatted everywhere, she quickly moved back, and tried as much as possible not to make any sound in doing so, to enable her escape; but her uncle suddenly raised up his head "you little bitch." He said furiously as he rushed toward her, with a metal pole in one hand and some documents in the other.
The moment Rose saw him coming toward her, she ran for her dear life, and he continued to chase after her, causing and threaten, As soon as Rose got to her room, she bangs the door close with a brute force and just as she bolted the door. Something like a metal sound landed on the door, her uncle raging "you little piece of shit, hide, oh just keep on hiding because if I catch, I am going to kill you." He said notorious, he was mad that she caught them.
Rose ran and hide herself in the closet, as she cried, she ate. When she opened her eyes again, it was morning, but she couldn't leave her room for fear of what they might do to her and this time her parents was not coming back early.
She had no phone and no one to reach or ask for help. She went and took her bath, ate from the food she had packed and went to sleep again.
Rose spent three days inside her room, by the second day; the food she had packed, had already gone bad. Then she heard a knock on her door, she jumped up excitedly because, it was day three, which meant, her parents would soon arrive but as she reached for the door knob the nanny spoke "Rose! Your parents just called, looks like they will not be able to make it today; Till next week, just wanted to inform you." Mrs. Lola said, she could hear the mocking in her voice.
As soon as she heard that, all the strength in her legs left, she lost her balance, and fell on the floor; from the other side she could hear her uncle and the nanny laughing hysterically. Throughout that day she couldn't eat anything.
The following day, Rose tried to sneak out again, but was caught by Mrs. Lola. Who started to drag her by the hair, "I thought you were going to hide in there forever, too bad your parents are not here to help you." She said laughing,
Then she called out to her uncle; "hey handsome, come and see what I got of you."
Rose, seeing that she was distracted; quickly hit her, on the leg with the sharp pen, she had with her. Just as Mrs. Lola shriek in pain, Rose Escaped her and ran toward her room.
But was stopped by her uncle who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, "where do you think you are going? You can't escape this time, don't worry I won't hurt you Rose, I just need your tongue." Just then she heard the nanny running toward her angrily, causing
"Catch her, don't let her escape." She said with a knife in her hands, "I am going to show you what real pain feels like."
This was an eleven plus old child, not even up to Twelve, against two strong adult; she was done for. Rose, knowing that if they caught on to her, they may kill or torched her, she then did the only thing she knows how to do. As her uncle ran towards her, she pushed forward; just as he was about to grab her, she stabbed him on his hand, and slide between his leg.
She didn't bother to look back; she could hear the screaming of both the nanny and her uncle. She rushed inside, closed her door, hands on her chest as she felt her heart beating frantically.
The sixth day, the tired and sick Rose was starving, but she could not go out. With no food in her, and the pains in her stomach caused by the bad food she had eaten, she felt like she had died and came back to life. At night, she cried and called for her mother, but no one, was there to answer.
A week had gone by, and her parents had contacted her uncle to come pick them up from the airport, through the window she could see her uncle and nanny as they drove away in her father's car.
She quickly hurried downstairs to the kitchen with the little strength she had, and ate like a mad person. Can't blame her after starving for a week; after what seems to be an hour, then, she heard a car engine, not wasting time, she ran back to her room. She stood waiting to see, if it was her parents, when she turned and saw her reflection in the mirror, "Ahhh" she was like a monster.
She head to the bathroom, good thing it was opened. As she came out, Mrs. Lola knocked and informed her that her parents were calling for her, she made up her mind today, she was going to tell them of the things the nanny and her Uncle had done to her.
With that hope and thought in mind, Grace strolled out to go meet her parents, but unknown to her, things just got from bad to worst.
