The door opened, Mario, the lawyer, the brother closest to Luca in age, stood outside. “We called the police and they got a judge to issue a temporary restraining order. They’ll serve him at the station. Right now he’s being charged with disorderly conduct, but they can up the charge to assault if he doesn’t cooperate. There are plenty of witnesses. His budding career will be in tatters,” Mario said smugly.
“I don’t want to ruin him. I just want him to leave me alone,” Dennis said, tears pouring down his cheeks.
Luca sat down next to him on the couch. “You’re too nice but I’m not. We will get a restraining order, just in case. He stole from you once, I wouldn’t put it past him to try again. I’m increasing security on the house. Ang called Jorge, he’s calling the security company. The house is too exposed and it seems that the Times article made us targets.” Once Mario left, Luca locked the door.
