He sat furiously working on a piece of art. Just a few more pieces and he would have enough ready for a show. If they sold he would, at last, be on a firm financial footing and be able to pay his own way. Then he could finally approach Luca with what was in his heart. Luca still would be getting no bargain with the perpetual precarious state of his health, but he didn’t seem to mind. Dennis would take one more shot at love. They both deserved the chance.
Dennis could in good conscience ignore the health issues, because the medication made him almost normal; but there was no way he could ignore the money. Since that first time when Luca saved him from himself, Dennis loved him. What other man would step in and take care of a stranger he found on the beach, much less someone who had attempted suicide?
