Jordan nodded. “According to Xavier, he had tried to get a read on any magical traces that might linger inside Warren’s body, but he failed. He wondered if Dillon can help him with that.”
“Why doesn’t he approach Dillon personally?” Darby inquired.
“According to Martha, Xavier is busy. He’s at the crime scene, doing his best to check on his ward, which is still intact, by the way, and investigate how anyone or anything could have slipped through it. He must concentrate on that. The ward is tightly knitted together with his magic to avoid any potential loophole.”
“And yet someone or something still managed to sneak in and drain Warren of every single drop of his blood,” Riordan pointed out while folding his arms over his muscular chest. “Won’t it be dangerous for Dillon to be at the crime scene?”
Dillon chuckled. “No, I’ll be fine. You and Darby will be there to protect me while I do my thing.”
