Jason nodded. “Yeah, since I moved in with Danny. Shortly after my mother died. I talk mostly about some of the stuff that went on back when I was with the LAPD. But sometimes about family stuff, too.”
“Family stuff?”
“Sure,” Jason said. “You didn’t know my family when most of us lived here. You and Galaxy didn’t arrive that long ago. But yeah, my father was abusive.”
Leo tensed. “I’m sorry.”
“Water under the bridge as they say, I guess. But sometimes I still talk about it in counseling. He broke my jaw when he found out I was gay.”
“Oh my God.”
“Hmm.” Jason shrugged again as they started up the path to the street. “Anyway. You going home now?”
