He’d been careful, though, which hadn’t been hard, given what an incompetent head of security Ridley was. Trip couldn’t understand what Finchley was thinking when he’d recommended the man to Dr. G., or where her vaunted genius had been when she’d agreed with her right-hand man’s suggestion.

Trip shook his head. That was the way things were at the institute now, and he’d deal with it. He got out of bed and proceeded to get dressed. His last act at BIMOS would be to find and destroy any samples of Deuce’s sperm, and all records pertaining to him. Only then would he tell his lover what he’d been doing.

“Hold on a sec, and I’ll make you some breakfast,” Deuce murmured around a yawn.

“No, I’ll grab a Pop-Tart on the way out.”

“I can make you some eggs.”

“Thanks, boss. I’m running late, though.”

“Oh, yeah? Now why would that be?”
