I had no idea the lesbian community was so diverse in Raleigh. There was Ray, short for Raquel, a 21-year old, who stood about 5’4”, had more tattoos than your average biker, and gold fronts on her teeth which spelled out the word P-I-M-P. She worked at a garage on Blount Street and, while there is nothing wrong with an honest day’s work for an honest day pay, I am going to need you to wash your hands and suck on a breath mint before you meet me. I was polite during a short conversation over coffee at the pancake restaurant around the corner from her shop, but after she spent the whole time staring at my chest instead of my eyes, we both knew it was a one and done deal.

Then there was Passion. She insisted we meet at a beauty supply store so she can pick up some packs of hair. Maybe the picture she sent me of her wearing an outfit, which looked like she was an extra in the movie The Player’s Club, should have tipped me off she was on a whole different level than me.
