Brandt must’ve seen something in her face,because he and Jack had a whispered conversation on the way back to the truck.Once they were in the cab,he mentioned a little too casually,“You know,we dohave that extra bedroom we aren’t using back at the apartment.We could empty it out and use it to store all your stuff instead.Save us some money.”

He’d glanced at Jack,but in a cursory way that told Lori they’d already discussed the matter,and Jack’s shrug was answer enough.The room was hers,as soon as it could be cleaned out and spruced up.

And now,with the help of her men,she had her own little nook in the apartment,a place to call her own.She loved them both,she did,but sometimes a girl needed to get away and unwind,even from the men in her life,and this way she could shut the door when their bickering threatened to become too much to handle.
