After a long discussion they negotiated a fair deal for both parties, For 400 Galleons and 25 percent of the revenue from the potions sales, the apothecary would take care of productions including its costs and sales. For that, they would gain for the next ten years the exclusive right to sell the potions as the only store in the alley. As a small bonus, Matthew would also gain a 10 percent discount on all potion ingredients, since Slughorn wanted to support his potions studies. This Discount would help Matthew massively in the long run.
After both parties signed the Contract, Slughorn gave him a bag with 400 Galleons and Matthew informed him of his vault details. As he left the office he again got reminded to not forget the Christmas Party.
Matthew stepped into the shop and restocked his Potion ingredients while using the discount so he could experiment during the Summer holidays. After he bought around 80 Galleons worth of Ingredients, he left the Shop into the Alley.
With a large bag in his hands, he remembered a trunk shop he saw down the road, which he decided would be extremely useful. His original trunk didn't have too much space left but a magical one could have useful enchantments on it. As he arrived at the shop, entered the small but practical storeroom which was packed with trunks in all sizes and colors.
"Welcome, what can I do for you?". Asked an old shop Keeper behind the Counter.
"I would like to buy an enchanted trunk. What kind of models do you have for sale?" asked Matthew.
"Well, there are three possible base products, that can be extended with additional enchantments. Although the Third one is very expensive because of its nature and is also strictly regulated. The standard model is an extended trunk which is basically any trunk just with an extension enchantment on it, the base price is 20 Galleons. The second model is the Multi-compartment trunk it comes in 4 Variations. 3, 7, 10, and 16 Compartments. The chepest one starts at 80 Galleons. Lastly, there is the House Trunk, they contain their own pocket dimension which serves as a portable house. It cost at its cheapest 15000 Galleons including registering it at the Ministry." Explained the Shop Keeper.
'Hmm… A House trunk would be nice, but it's fucking expensive. It's probably easier to create one myself in the future. Pocket Dimension is also an interesting topic to research in the future. The expanded one is too small in the long run. So only the multi-compartment trunk remains. If I remember correctly Moody was imprisoned in one of these during the Triwizard Tournament. A model with seven compartments should be enough if it isn't too expensive.' "How much does the seven compartment model cost?" he asked after pondering.
"The base model costs 140 Galleons. 5 Galleons for every enchantment besides the Resizing enchantment that one costs 15." Replied the old shopkeeper.
"I'll take one. With the resizing, anti-theft, light-weight, protection, ingredient storage and Library addons." Ordered Matthew.
"Okay, that will be 180 Galleons. Thank you. Your Trunk will be finished in 10 min. So please wait here."
After 15 minutes Matthew left the Trunk shop with empty hands and a shrunk Trunk on a chain around his neck, 'So time to solve my reading problem.' He thought while wandering a few shops further to the north side of Diagon Alley. Entering Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment an old and chaotic-looking store with all kinds of Wizarding Equipment to buy, he bought enchanted quick-reading glasses and a Mappa Mundi.
The Quick-reading Glasses looked like normal glasses but were enchanted to triple the users reading speed. Whether they would be able to remember the read content was up to the User. But with the help of the AI Chip, it was no problem. They cost 19 Galleons.
A Mappa Mundi was essentially a wizarding World map. The location and entrances to all important Wizarding locations like hospitals, ministries, and shopping districts in the World were marked on it. And it was self-updating. The Map cost 5 Galleons.
Matthew left the shop and bought himself a quick lunch at a food stall. With only around 115 Galleons remaining he started looking for a second-hand book store. He wanted to buy as many books that couldn't be found in the Hogwarts Library as possible. Although he didn't know the content of all the books, he at least knew with the help of the Chip which he could find in the Library.
He found a second-hand book shop besides Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour also in the North of the Alley. The Shop was called "The Lost Library". He found a lot of interesting books inside like 'Pathways of the Mind', 'An introduction into the Mystic Arts', 'Magica Diabolica', 'History of Druids', 'Asteonomia Nova' and many more obscure topics. He picked any book that piqued his interest and filled his trunk with it. With 153 new books inside his personal Library, he finally left the book shop. With no more money he finally decided to leave Diagon alley and to leave for home.
After leaving the Leaky Cauldron he decided instead of calling his parents to pick him up, he would take a walk through the city. After all his home was only a 25 min walk away. On his way he checked out the sights of the city, after all, he didn't live in Britain in his previous life and he never visited London. Everything was so new for him even though he had memories of the original Matthew Mason.
As he passed a particularly dark alley he was able to spot a few shady figures that exchanged something that looked like a small bag filled with something white. 'A drug deal. This may be a opportunity.' He thought.
After the buyer left Matthew began to follow the drug dealer. He trailed behind him for half an hour before they arrived at a remote slightly old building. The Dealer rang the bell and the door was opened by another man with dark hair and sunglasses; 'Maybe it's just another Drug deal. But someone wearing Sun Glasses indoor is just suspicious. Or retarded...' thought Matthew. But as the drug dealer entered the building behind the other sunglasses guy Matthew spotted something in his back pocket. A Gun.
'I knew it. This may be a hideout. But before I do anything I need to prepare myself. After all, I am easily recognizable and still have my wand on me.' Thought Matthew as he continued home.
As he arrived home he smelled the wonderful dinner his mother prepared. He spent the rest of the evening with his parents talking about his day before retiring into his room for the night. In his room, he started to pack into his new trunk a few sets of clothes and put on a dark hoodie and dark pants. Before he climbed out of his window he left his wand on his desk and locked the door of his room.
After half an hour he arrived again at the building he believed to be a gang hideout and started to observe it from the shadows. The moment he was sure most of the inhabitants were asleep he decided it was time to begin.
'Show time' thought Matthew as he crossed the street.
