章 3: Chapter 3
After the incident
My dad scolded me for three days straight and grounded me for one week, that meant no more bike rides for one very good week. Mom tried negotiating but dad was not having it. I would come back from school and stay in my room until a week passed.
After a week
Sweet freedom.
The week passed by so fast, it barely felt like it.
I rode my bicycle as usual but instead of just me and the road I saw someone on a red mountain bike one that I knew too well because I had begged my father a thousand times to buy me one just like it but he said it was way too expensive, for a bike.
His bike was new l could see the way it shined and I vowed to make the owner my friend. I increased my speed to match the owner's.
"Nice ride, I wish l had one like that." I said as l approached the someone.
He smiled and my heart did a back flip, if hearts do that. He was cute, very cute.
I know this cuteness from somewhere. I scrunched my face a few times to actually get my brain working then it hit me; he was the same guy l hit with my bicycle.
Damn it. I thought, his look gave it away that he also realised it.
We forgave each other so we should start afresh, isn't it?
