章 196: Living two days later

News from the front reaches us in the following days.

I continue working like before, doing Ignis's job during the night and mine in the evening. I also spend time with Lars and with Aestas. Since Ignis is away, the little girl has been forgotten by everyone. If I keep her with me, it will be a signal clear enough. I'm her godmother, which means I have to take care of her.

«Hello, Tata,» I say. «Do you want to meet Lars?»

«Rars?»

«My son. And your uncle's son.»

«Anko?» she stutters, looking for Ignis. She moves her head left and right without success, and she frowns, getting ready to cry. Oh, so smart of me to mention Ignis!

«Oh, he's far away.»

I sit on the sofa and pat on my side. She strolls to me and raises her arms. I help her climb up and sit. Then, I offer her some snacks.

«He will come back very soon. While he's away, you and I can play together and protect each other. What do you think?»
