章 6: Ch.06
I looked back at the Borga laying on its side lifeless, compared to the previous creatures this one is slowly being consumed by the abyss.
I walk towards the belly section part before cutting it from the front to the rear end of the creature's stomach horizontally.
The cut was long and wide enough to allow a person to step inside, however, the organs inside were preventing anything from entering. So I went ahead and cut, pull, and empty the inside carcass before throwing a bit of dirt inside to create a dirt floor.
Since I'll be sleeping inside I might as well try and make it as comfortable as possible.
I slowly make my way in before slowly lying on the dirt and blood mix floor, the smell was bearable, but the thought of it prevented me from being relaxed.
Eventually, I somehow managed to sleep through the day until I was awakened to the sight that the inside has gotten a bit tighter.
"I guess it's time to head back outside, this doesn't look like it will last for the next 4 hours."
I step outside still tired from sleeping on the disgusting mixed floor but that feeling was then changed to a sense of hunger once again.
"Should I stay with the body to get the loot or should I hunt for something and then come back "
I ponder for a moment before my stomachs interrupted my thinking with a forceful grumbling and a sharp pain little pain.
"Hunt it is then"
I walk around for about 2 minutes searching for anything before stumbling upon a little tree that bears what looks to be fruits.
"Is that edible?"
[Yes]
"I don't remember reading about this during my time at the orphanage "
[From time to time the abyss changes and in doing so the floor changes, not drastically but little ]
"Why is that ?"
[The abyss is not unchangeable as many unknown factors can change it]
"Can you be more specific?"
[No]
Not wanting to continue questioning the System I quickly dash towards the tree and take one of many fruits from the branches.
Before consuming I made sure to examine the fruit to see if it's in a good condition to eat, regarding the maturity of the fruit to see if it's ripe or not.
I took one bite and the moment I did so I was energetic as if I had just drunk 5 energy drinks, I felt like I could stay active for 2 days without having to rest.
With so much energy I could not help but yell.
"What is this fruit?!"
[ That is a Zink ]
"Why does this thing make me wanna hunt for the next 49 hours?!"
[ That is due to the Zink's bio component of caffeine]
"Caffeine! How much caffeine is in this thing!?"
[ 800 milligrams]
"Is that amount dangerous?!"
[ Caffeine can be dangerous if one is to consume more than 400 milligrams]
"What!?"
With the given info I did not hesitate to throw the fruit, I ended up throwing the fruit quite a distance due to the caffeine.
"I think one bite is enough for me, too bad my stomachs are having different opinions "
Not wanting to risk dying because of caffeine or hunger I decided to presume my hunting. Luckily, due to my screaming earlier, I caught the attention of a group of Woompas.
I was about to fully charge in before realizing that these Woompas were very different compare to the ones I killed. These guys were equipped with what appeared to be armor and they all seem to be wielding weapons that appear to be primitive and man-made.
"Did they kill a descender or did they make that equipment?!"
Despite trying to remain quiet and sneaky my body instead decided to scream my thoughts to the amount of energy within it.
"Fuck!"
The Woompas all turn their attention to me and started dashing towards me, not wanting to be outnumbered I ran through the woods in hopes of losing some of them.
I ran through bushes and low-hanging branches in an attempt to lose most of them, luckily, I managed to separate one of them from the rest.
I quickly hide by climbing up a tree that had low hanging branches, once I reach the top I looked down to see one Woompa sniffing the ground where I once was.
Unfortunately for it, it does not have the mental capacity to look up at the tree where the scent it follows was then lost due to its target climbing up.
I watch as the creature circle around the tree aimlessly in hope of finding the next lead, but unfortunately, it does not know the amount of time it has looped around the same tree.
As I watch as the creature steadily becomes dizzy and faint I notice that it has what looks to be a sword on its back.
"Where did you get that sword from?"
I thought to myself, fortunately, all that running calm me down from screaming again.
I slowly climb down from the top but stop at a height that will not damage my legs badly if I fell and prepare myself to jump on top of the dizzy Woompa who is now laying face flat towards the ground.
Breathing in I clench my knife firmly before jumping down with my weight on my kneecaps in hopes that I'll be able to knock the wind out of the creature or snap its back.
Upon impact, all I heard was the sound of both air and crack before the sound of gushing blood was introduced, which was then followed by a spray of blood onto the tree.
As I stand on top of its declining corpse I felt that same sense of energy mellowing inside of me before I turn my attention to the sword on its back.
I picked it up and notice that the sword is medium in weight, sharp on the edge, and length compatible with someone like me. Overall it is a nice sword from a fellow Woompa and now it's time to see what I got as loot.
Opening the loot I received what I believe was a gift from an all-powerful being.
