章 37: Unnamed (Name Me!)

Ginkamen immediately began in the base, using Doton and a bit of handiwork he began hollowing out a space underground. Planting the shovel into the dense dirt he wiped a few beads of sweat that were forming in his brow, exhaling a sigh he looked over the past few hours of work, he nearly had the canteen done, every room would branch off the canteen… What was taking the longest were the drains, Mizukagure was filled with people proficient in Suiton and if the base location was leaked all it would take to flip the tide of war was to flood it.

To counter this he had used Doton to drill holes deep into the earth, while small there were hundreds dotting their unfinished canteen, hopefully with this it would take an unreasonable amount of effort to flood the base…

"We finis… Woah…" the previous team leader came down the steps into the canteen, the entrance hasn't been blocked yet and the sensors aren't picking anyone up nor are the detection seals, while Ginkamen was rarely this careless with a sensor and thousands of detection seals he felt he had a right to…

Tossing the squad a bundle of shovels Ginkamen spoke, "Get to work, the layout is drawn out on the floor… it will be there for ten minutes so memorize it…"

"Kikuyu, focus on the southern wall, Yamai you began the drainage and the water supply, Takeshita and I Will began the east and west respectability…" Hikomori looked up at Ginkamen waiting for his approval, Ginkamen nodded, "I'll start with bracing the ceiling then, stick by the measurements… once this room is done we will began to set the tiles and seals…"

"Hai," Four voices rang out throughout the small room, Ginkamen was slightly shocked. He only had a few teams willfully accept his orders with vigor, behind a mask a smile unknowingly formed.

A week had passed and the canteen was finished, it could easily fit a thousand people with room for activities, a large vat of clean groundwater sat under a water spout. They had luckily found a water vein nearby which had saved them a lot of time, and saved Ginkamen a lot of seal making. His initial plan was to had it come from the ocean through a metal pipe covering in heating seals, while a fairly low seal in the book when they are placed in a matrix the heat made can even melt iron… so boiling water was fairly easy… the hard part would have been lining the hole with the metal pipe.

Currently everyone was resting while admiring their work, Takeshita softly spoke, "How come we never thought of this? We could easily hide the whole army from the opposition as long as there isn't a sensor…" Kikuyu; the sensor whispered, "Not true, I couldn't see through 'Hyakudō' at all… and what Hiashi said was true… Ginkamen let's his chakra roam free in 'Hyakudō' his chakra pool is… terrifying…"

They all looked at her wide eyed, surprised that she just brought this up… they could see the fear in her eyes as she remembered the oppressive almost destructive chakra weighing on all her senses, Yamai leaned in close whispering loud enough for them to hear, "Is he doing it right now?"

Kikuyu shook her head looking down at the rough stone tiles, "No, he's revealing some of it though… it's comparable to a Chuunin… but it doesn't feel compressed or shallow, it feels like he's not even hiding it… hmmm, i'm confused…" holding the sides of her head she shook it trying to make sense of the Mercenary.

Tajima fell back in thought, they had received a secret mission from the elders to find out the man's identity but the more they looked the harder it became. The man's voice seemed aged despite its distortion but the lower half of his face seemed young, the man wasn't tall just standing slightly shy of 170cm and his pale blue eyes seemed to radiate a wealth of knowledge…

The man's movements were anything but unpracticed, it was obvious he had years of training just from how he held himself, it was like there was a kunai at their throat whenever they were around him and his calmness was almost scary… he a 'mere' mercenary surrounded by trained Shinobi was more calm then the trained Shinobi, slowly Tajima thoughts came to a conclusion… the man had to be a Ronin…

Yumi sucked down her 7th bowl of pork miso ramen, she sat in between Shizune and Kurenai, "Mouuu, when is Shirohi coming back…" slurping the remaining noodles she slumped against the counter, Shizune eyed her for a moment before returning to her conversation with Kakashi but a small frown had marred her face.

Kurenai rested her elbows on the counter, her head laying on top of her palms as she leaned towards Yumi, "You really like him huh?"

Yumi sent her a 'stupid' gaze with a smile, "I don't know if your just stupid or ignorant…" Yumi's tone was overly polite, Kurenai scoffed "I wonder if I'll be able to squeeze into his bed at night as well," Yumi's eyes narrowed, an incredulous expression smeared across her face… next to Kurenai, Asuma spat out his food. Obito patted his back with an apologetic smile on his pitiful face before he leaned forward to talk with Kakashi, who was a few seats down.

Teuchi just kept the bowls coming, aside from Kushina these kids were his biggest customers…

=========================================

A month had passed and the underground base was nearly complete, Konoha had sent two more teams over the month to speed up the process. Each team had been on a mission with Ginkamen before, and were quick to fall in line.

On the surface, Ginkamen alongside Kikuyu scouted the surroundings. There had been a lot of activity on the water recently and Ginkamen wanted to make sure that no scouts had crossed the sea, some of his detection seals have been going off as of recently but it could just be the wildlife and with the seals blocking any sensor-type skills Kikuyu hadn't been able to verify whether it was wildlife or Shinobi…

"You picking up anything?" Ginkamen's distorted voice filled her ears, as she focused on sensing her surroundings, gently probing Ginkamen's chakra pool as she spread her senses. The overbearing destructive chakra poured over her senses but Ginkamen didn't react, she had been resting his senses constantly over the past month looking for any weakness to report.

"2 signatures to the south, another 10 further than them… about 110 meters…" Kikuyu uttered out, despite feeling this destructiveness nearly everyday her body still shakes as it floods her mind. Ginkamen nodded "Inform the others, I'll go on ahead and deal with the 2 closest… take the others to the ones further back."

Ginkamen disappeared into a flurry of grass trimmings as he shunshin'd away, plucking a blade of grass from the air she finally had a clue to his identity…

As Ginkamen rapidly approached the two unknown chakra signatures he unsheathed a tanto, he refused to use Kusagani while he was 'Ginkamen' so he bought new tools to use while working as this identity, flicking his wrist a flurry of sebon shot out digging deep into the sparse trees surrounding the unknown duo.

A illusionary cage forming around them as Ginkamen revealed himself, despite the shock on their face at the sight of the illusionary barrier they seemed to expect him, "Kuekekekeke, I'm going to enjoy tearing your eyes from your skull," manic laughter filled the barrier as one of the Shinobi rubbed his hands together, his expression was ugly as he eyed Ginkamen's mask.

"I wonder why you're hiding your face? Maybe you're a forgotten princess? Or maybe you're a demonic yokai posing as a human to feast upon their desires… Uaghh, the suspense is killing ME!" The manic Shinobi burst forward leaving their silent comrade behind, ash-white bones protruding from his skin as he lashed out wildly swinging his arms, Ginkamen was pushed on the defensive as he split his focus between the manic Shinobi and the silent one…

"Don't worry about her, she's just ah little broken~" in between wild swings the manic Shinobi boasted, "I had to cut out her tongue because she spoke of the most vulgar things…" nearly dodging a punch Ginkamen leaped back, he was at a disadvantage in close quarters but he didn't want to reveal to many cards…

White flames began to lick Ginkamen's cloak as he folded hand seals, softly muttering as he fell back onto the soft grass 'Katon: Dragon Fire Jutsu' bringing the tips of his fingers to his lips he exhaled a large flame, the flame took the shape of a dragon as it left his mouth, with the barrier cracking from the heat an explosion of steam shattered the barrier, "Kuekekeke, to think I'd have to use my toy, you really are as strong as they say… Ginkamen…"

As the steam faded to reveal the silent Shinobi standing in front of a dome made from burnt bone, her clothes brittle and charred from the flames breaking with even the smallest of movements revealing her scarred pale flesh, the dome receded to reveal the manic Shinobi unharmed. As the silent Shinobi collapsed to her knees the manic Shinobi gripped her head before raising her off the ground, he ran his tongue across her burnt flesh as a smile rose to his face, "To think it tastes so much better cooked…" tossing to the side in the same manner one would a bag of trash he folded a series of hand seals.

With an uneasy feeling in his gut Ginkamen leaped into the air, a sea of bones breaking through the soil as his feet left the ground, the manic Shinobi followed him with his eyes… a sense of greed hidden deep within them as he pointed his finger at Ginkamen, a small pointed white object shot from his finger cutting deep into Ginkamen's arm before he could move…
