章 6: Parent to be?

'Well, it is named Kenji which is not that bad a name. Woah it is also a werewolf which is one of the more powerful monsters. This also confirms that we are in the monster territory since there is a baby monster in this village. I guess I will take it with me until I have searched this entire village for its parents. If it does not then I will take it with me and raise a powerful warrior.'
"Wahhhhhh"
'But first, let me figure out how to calm it down. I was never really good with kids.'
After a few minutes of trying to calm it, he just gives it to JJ to hold. It for some reason then calms down and instantly cuddles up in his arms. It had a tan look to it and already a full head of hair and was also big for its age. A five-day-old baby at 1 foot already is pretty weird. But not for monsters since they age faster except for a few like dragons which are guaranteed to protect their young so they do not need to age up quickly. It also had teeth already coming in and had a few that seemed to be really sharp. He has black pupils and crimson reddish irises and his hair color is white.
'JJ are you good with children or do you think it is because I gave no cushion since I'm all bones.'
"Master it is a combo of the two since I once had children but lost them due to certain circumstances."
'I will remember to not ask that question as it might spark up his inner anger or something like that.'
They then started to search the town and they split up to do that. The four or now the five of them then met back up at the hut they found Kenji.
'There is no one here and there seems to be blood stains but no bodies. My guess is humans came and killed them but left the baby or did not find it somehow. They also must have taken the bodies to use as trophies or materials to make things. So let's just keep heading further into the monster region to make sure we get as far away from humans as possible. But before we leave let's grab some meat for the baby so it can eat later.'
They then continued with a new addition to their team. Every hour the baby would eat around a pound of meat which was stored in a basket made of sticks that was found in the village. After what felt like 2 hours it turned night. They set up a fire or more specifically Jj set up a fire as Jake did not know-how as he never had to make one before. They fell asleep with Kenji snuggled up to JJ for comfort and Sally snuggled up with the baby and JJ. It was really cute to watch until you think about how dangerous these three will become in the future. As you would think only sally and the baby slept as both Jake and JJ were technically dead. The night then turned to day as the sun just rose. Once the sun rose they left on their expedition while stopping every so often to feed sally and the baby.
After about 4 hours they finally found another village but with fire and smoke coming out of it. It was not like a small fire either, it was a big one. Like in the movies where a dragon burns a whole city down to the ground. It made the sun get blocked out and seemed as if night came again so soon. Only if you were in the city you would notice a commotion of killing and trampling happening. The people were trampling the young 'people' while they were trying to escape from people in shiny armour and swords and shields. Arrows were also raining down on the 'people' as they were running away in terror.
JJ and Jake knew something was wrong due to the amount of smoke and screaming. But what topped it off was the line of dead people that were lying on the outskirts of the village that looked to be running away from it.
As they got closer they soon realized that the people were actually monsters. They were literally getting slaughtered. There were a few with there guts spilled out and waiting to die. Some had there scalp cut off like an indian. Most likely to have as a souviner. That is how bad humans were actually in this world. They were fueled by hate which strived from their religion and their past.
In the past humans were the ones getting slaughtered. That was until a very smart and tall man by the name of Merlin came into existence. Magic was not known at the time. Like how humans did not know how to make nukes off the bat. People couldn't use mana unless someone showed them. But merlin was not like that. He was the first user, the magic sage. He somehow figured out how to use it at the age of 18 and was very good at it too. He was good enough to be stronger than those taught by teachers at the magic schools. Just think how hard that would be to learn something by yourself and then also be the best at it. That is how good he was. He was a literal genius.
So once he started to teach others that was when he noticed that humans had built up anger for the monsters. They were doing horrible thing to them. They were for no better of a word I know, the new monsters. They would enslave the children of the mosnter to do stuff only you could imagine. Think of a noble and a cute maid and think about what the rich and fat noble would do and that is your answer. They also made gladiator type areans for the enslave monsters to fight and die in. It was absolutely wrong. By the time merlin figured it out he only spread around 50% of his magic understanding to people. Which is a good thing as if he would have spread all of it the humans would be almost unstoppable. And if you think about strong things like dragons and phoniexs they may be strong but the hardly make more of themselves. So if you have a strong and fast breeding animal. It would lead to a disaster. There would be no weakness and at that point the gods would introduce something to make the humans weaker and outright put in a stronger creature. So by nerfing his own race he ended up saving it.
But at the same time what is happening at this village is common as there are always fights at the borders. The only reason they are getting slaughtered is because these soldiers probably snuck past the frontline where all the fighting monsters are. So basically the villages at the border are defenseless right now.
So as of this moment he was scanning all the soldiers to find out who was the leader. He finally found him and 'squinted' at him.
