章 24: Poor pirates
Fishman Island, Front Entrance
The guards who are in charge of checking the pirate's ship saw another one coming their way and signaled the ship to stop.
As the pirate ship stopped a fishman guard approached the ship and was about to do a mandatory inspection when suddenly a gun was pointed towards him.
"This is a mandatory inspection set up by the Fishman Island, every pirate ship must be inspected before letting you enter the Island." The guard explained calmy, he was already used to getting pointed at by guns all the time.
A pirate with missing teeth who pointed the gun towards the gun retrieved his weapon and said with a smile on his face, "Is that so? then please do hurry up with your inspection."
The guard nodded his head and was about to enter the ship when suddenly a huge manta ray with a blind human landed in front of the guardhouse.
Kenshin who was standing on top of the manta ray glanced at the guards and asked, "Who is the one in charge here?"
A shark fishmen stepped up and said, "I am the one in charge here, are you Mister Kenshin?"
"That's right, I will be taking over your job for the time being. The Palace already assigned your new post so go meet up with the Minister of the Right to know where your new post will be." Kenshin explained.
The guard looked at the blind human in front of him weirdly but he nonetheless agreed and gave Kenshin a salute, he then told his subordinates to pack up their things and left.
As the guards all left the front entrance, the pirate whose ship was about to get checked looked at the blind swordsman and said while throwing a gold coin towards him, "Young friend, seeing that both of us are humans how about letting us inside?"
Catching the gold coin Kenshin put it inside his pocket and replied, "That won't do, if you want to enter the island then you must at least hand over half of your treasures to me."
"What?!" The pirate shouted in anger as he glared at the blind swordsman in front of him.
Kenshin nonchalantly unsheathed his sword and replied, "You heard me."
"Heh, you think that you're really badass huh? let's see if you have what it takes to take down my crew." The pirate said as he unsheathed his saber.
"Men! let's take down this arrogant blind man and enter Fishman Island!"
"Oooooooh!"
A group of pirates jumped off their ship with their weapons in their hands and rushed towards Kenshin who had his sword pointed at the ground.
Sensing the multiple aura's approaching Kenshin closed his eyes trying to heighten his senses.
"Haha, I'll chop your head off, you blind swordsman." A pirate carrying an ax attacked Kenshin head-on.
Kenshin who was trying to heighten his senses slid to the left evading the incoming ax, he then twisted his sword and slashed towards the pirate who hacked his ax sending the pirate flying.
Not minding their comrade being sent flying backward the rest of the pirates all launched their attack at Kenshin simultaneously.
Sensing multiple attacks coming towards him Kenshin made a backflip dodging the attacks making the pirates who attacked him injure each other with their weapons missing their target and unconsciously piercing their comrades due to not having enough time to stop their attacks.
"With this kind of crew, you even dare to step into the New World?" Kenshin asked in a mocking tone.
The pirate with the missing clenched his saber as he jumped off his ship and dashed towards Kenshin, "Don't get too cocky swordsman!"
Kenshin didn't even bother using his sword anymore, he disappeared from his spot and appeared behind the pirate and chop the back of his neck making him fell unconscious.
Sensing all the pirates already knocked out or injured Kenshin jumped onto their ship and after a few minutes he jumped off carrying a bunch of treasures wrapped inside a huge cloth.
He then approached the manta ray who by now became his personal mount and place the treasures on top of it and said, "Bring these treasures to Jinbe and tell him to keep on reforming the district because I will be sending more treasures in the future."
After sending the treasures Kenshin then turned his attention towards the injured pirates and said, "You can enter Fishman island now but please do remember not to cause any trouble, or else you will be meeting me again and when that time comes I hope that you can prepare your necks."
The pirates unconsciously held their necks and nodded in agreement, they then carried their unconscious captain and entered the island in a pitiful manner.
Fishman District
Jinbe who was currently with the Minister of the Left was checking the constructions around the district when suddenly a huge manta ray landed in front of them carrying a bunch of treasures.
"This.." Jinbe and the Minister of the Left were speechless seeing the treasures and could only feel sorry at the poor pirates who will be plundered by Kenshin in the future.
