章 39: Chapter 39: Unexpected Proposal

After their lunch with Janet, Lily and Jasmine went back to work. Lily noticed that Jasmine's face was pale. She was strangely quiet.

Jasmine kept checking her mobile phone as if she were waiting to receive a call or a message. Before leaving the office, Jasmine sent Rayan the daily report, as she always did. Rayan did not answer, as he always used to do.

Since Lily and Jasmine's friendship ruined, Lily started to go home alone. She searched for a new apartment to stay in for the remaining weeks, but she failed to find one.

She did not want to ask Alex or anyone to help her find a place to stay because she did not want to show them that her relationship with Jasmine was not as it used to be.

Though, Alex felt that there was something wrong between them. His curiosity drove him several times to ask Lily, but she did not confirm that they were no longer close friends.
