Cathy looked around at the nearly empty street. "Just think, by this time next year the town will be booming with people."

"Yeah, well, I'm more interested in seeing San Francisco in our day. Are you ready to go?"

Cathy laughed. "You know, for a time-traveler, you don't care much about history, do you?"

"It depends," Dawn answered, "but certainly not this dusty old town. Let's go hit the wharf."

"Dawn, hearts, I have to ask you a favor," Cathy said as she smiled and batted her eyes.

"What is it? Oh, I just know I'm not going to like this, am I?" asked Dawn.

"It's just that I have always wanted to see the Summer of Love, right here where it took place."

"You want to go see a bunch of 1960s hippies?" Dawn quipped. "Dressed like this?"

"Nope, look what else I have in our bag." At this, Cathy pulled out a tie-dyed tee shirt and a flowing white top with flared-out sleeves for Dawn. "We can wear these with our regular, everyday Townsend Jeans. Pretty, pretty please, Dawn."
