章 4: Chapter 4
Alice woke up, feeling refreshed and sunny, she yawned quite loudly. But for her poor mind, as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw two sapphire blue eyes looking at her.
"You know it is probably illegal to sleep on someone's roof, right?" Miss Blue-Eyes, now who her mind identified as Glory Girl, spoke to her.
"I know. I don't just care," Through her armour, Alice smirked. Glory Girl must have sensed it too, since she narrowed her eyes dangerously.
"So, you are a villain." Glory Girl said as she cracked her knuckles.
"No, I am a hero who doesn't care for laws," Alice tentatively answered.
"So, you are a villain. Good things too. I have been stressing out for a while," Glory Girl said.
'Well, that's fair,' Alice thought as Glory Girl labelled her a villain. Stupid Taylor's morality, keeping her away from the sweet life of a carefree villain. But once in a while, she could pull stances like this and enjoy herself.
Alice switched on the state which she called combat mode and her awareness and thinking speed heightened to the point where Glory Girl flying toward her with a raising fist was like a snail crawling now. She promptly transformed the roof under her feet and surrounding area up to five metres to the same material her armour was made of, Tungsten-Diamond alloy, and melded her armour to it. The good thing about her Realisation ability is that aside from the tools that needed complex structure, she could create anything base-level. She wouldn't be able to create a sword that could shoot out lasers unless she took on Runecraft or become proficient enough in her power that she would be able to establish a domain, but she sure as hell could create a metal formed from the perfect blend of Tungsten steel and Diamond.
Glory Girl's fist hit her. A long bang rang out as it hit the armour, but not a scratch to be seen. The armour didn't even move an inch. Glory Girl's eyes widened in disbelief, but soon they hardened again, she raised another fist and hit it again.
*Bang
Alice raised her armour's right hand.
*Bang
It began to grow in masses until it became the size of her body.
*Bang
She filled the entire hollow casing with metal.
*Bang
She brought dow- however, she stopped. Alice's heightened senses warned her of something inside Glory Girl's. Something fragile.
"Hahahahaha, I see. Hahahaha," Alice laughed. Amused. She brought down her armour's hand and transformed it into its usual state.
Glory Girl scowled but was a little shaken since she could see the arm that was about to be brought down toward her since she was out of her battle haze, "are you mocking me?"
"No, of course not. But are you sure you should be out caping with that?" Alice said.
"What are you talking about?" Glory Girl asked, now wearing a curious expression.
"You really don't know? Hahahahahahah," Alice laughed some more for good measure.
"Then, you should ask your sister," Alice replied and wrapped her in an extremely tough yet comfortable cushion. She then proceeded to hurl her toward the direction of Brockton Bay General.
Afterwards, she muttered under her breath, "some people, I couldn't believe it".

After flying for quite a while, she could already see docks. She could even see DWU HQ from here. Taylor's dad used to bring her here when she was young. She would play within these endless mazes of crates and warehouses. When she was tired, she would sit at the office and would listen to the stories of some of the dockworkers. Alice paused in her thoughts as she saw rows of dockworkers arming and arming themselves up. The one leading up was Kurt, one of Danny Hebert's best friends. The man in front of her was massively different from the one in her memories.
This one seemed like he was aged more than 20 years. His eyes were full of hate and anger.
"Today a tragedy happened. Our man, Danny Hebert killed himself after seeing his daughter's corpse in a school locker. As most of you would know, he was looking for his little girl for a week. At that time, a blizzard was raging in the city, so we couldn't do much. However, we finally found her after the blizzard that passed through the town, but we were late, when we got there all we saw was a dead, cold, frozen corpse.
My god, the body was frozen and the pain and agony she had on her face when she died were," Kurt paused and shuddered, "She died from a "prank gone wrong" as they called it," Kurt did some air quotes. "This was unacceptable, we knew the city was fucked up, and it was slowly being eroded, and we knew this. We left it alone in hope that someday it would get better, but this? This was a slap on our face to reality, we couldn't save this city with just hope alone, and Danny learned it the hard way. We only have one way to go from now on, if the governments and those so-called heroes from their ivory tower won't save this city, then we have to take the matter into our hands and save this city by ourselves. I know some of you may be confused about how we would save the city. But the answer was simple, it was by breaking the status quo! The city is beyond saving with tumours known as gangs, Protectorate, included, are slowly killing it. So, we will remove the root of the problem. We will burn this city down and build a new, better one on its ash," He said in a dramatic tone.
He gestured something. Two people, one she recognized as Lacey and Alex, came out, pulling over a rather large crate. Alice watched in silence until she gasped when Kurt opened the content. The crate was filled to the brim with rocket launchers. Before long, other dockworkers also came out, pulling one crate after another. The crates were filled with various weaponry like machine guns, grenades and guns. Alice immediately knew that Kurt wasn't joking. He was really going to burn the city to the ground. But a new one wasn't guaranteed to be better.
"To get what you are seeing, DWU had to call for a few favours and owe something to someone, but it was all worth it in the end. Now, let's show the city and its gangs, what was coming for them," Kurt said as hundreds of people roared.
"Fuck," Alice said while watching from the sideline.
