Chapter 55: 4 Months
The following 4 months (1 month real world time) were definitely months of repetition.
What did I do, well, a variety of things.
First of all was my Kenjutsu training, Sora-sensei was an amazing teacher and he was helping me level up my Shadow Dance too.
I was on the cusp of breaking into the next rank with it too.
How Shadow Dance worked was, it allowed my battle style to be formless and shapeless like that of a shadow.
I was destined to be completely flowing.
And for it to rank up, I had to learn a large quantity and quality of battle-styles. And what is of a higher quality for a battle-style than a man who seems to be borderlining the rank of a Kage-rank shinobi.
It was not like I could copy Naido-sensei's battle style, with his insane elemental manipulation and counter to basically all basic elements in the world.
Even though I wasn't able to decipher Sora Senei's message, I did feel like I was about to be able to tell what it was.
And the second I did, my Shadow Dance would also rank up.
That was just for Kenjutsu.
I also did focus on learning a new Jutsu, which I managed to learn recently. The Rasengan.
I was able to learn the 1 handed Rasengan within 4 months which was insane progress in my opinion.
Sure Naruto learnt it in barely any time, but that was because this Jutsu was basically his hack in the anime, and one of his main Jutsu.
But I was only barely able to use the basic Rasengan, not its variations like the Massive Rasengan yet.
Following the Rasengan training, I also did manage to train in the usage of my aspect. I mean I unlocked a whole new set of powers so I decided to train in them.
My usage of Shadow Manifestation had increased to an insane degree, to the point I could now make Shadow wires to use in offense.
That combined with my Gloomy Shadow and the Shadow Possession Jutsu of the Nara clan, I was a force to be reckoned with in the close range.
If my opponent basically was't flying at all times, I would be able to slice their neck off and all they would be able to do is watch in horror.
But obviously even Shadow Possession had its limits.
I had to be close in rank to the person I was going to possess with my shadows, it was not an omnipotent Jutsu after all.
It was not like if Madara was in front of me now I would be able to just hold him down, our power gap was way too insane.
But if I was a kage, or maybe even a super-kage, that would be a different issue totally.
I did search the Nara clan for more Shadow Based Jutsu, and while they did have some interesting things, not too many of them would help me in my fighting style.
So I just focused on my aspect, to be able to teleport around everywhere within the realm of my shadows and be able to handle the sudden perception change.
It took me a while of getting used to, since it was instantaneous teleportation, but with my shadow senses being able to actively sense my environment, I did get used to it fairly quickly.
I did also focus on my Aspect Legacy, but not just for Kenjutsu, since I also had the Shadow Serpent.
I made sure to use the Serpent to ease and speed up the control over my Shadow Chakra, making me become more efficient in battle.
It was not just my aspect I had focused on for my combat though, since I did also practice on my lightning elemental Jutsu, not slacking in those in any way whatsoever.
While it was true that my battle style had changed completely due to my aspect awakening, that didn't mean that I should slack in my elemental Jutsu training.
After all, if the game wanted us to focus on our Aspects, why would we be starting off as Ninja in the first place.
I learnt nearly 5 A-rank Elemental Jutsu, each being versatile to help me in a variety of situations.
Naido Sensei also did teach me the advanced Lightning Manipulation so my chakra control was much better as well.
He did show me some really interesting ways to use the lightning elements that would allow me to incorporate it into my swordsmanship later on.
The next main thing I had progressed with was surprisingly Fuinjutsu.
I decided that while I didn't need it for my Flying Thunder God anymore due to Shadow Steps, Fuinjutsu is still broken in its own right.
Let alone the fact that I would be able to eventually seal the tailed beasts easily, which is overpowered in its own right.
And maybe at higher levels, I might even be able to incorporate the seals into my battlestyle.
But this was all hypothetical, for now I was more than happy to just study seals to seal the tailed beasts. And by the off chance that this is useful in the real world, I would be able to use seals there for a variety of reasons.
The real world was also slowly changing.
Handful of casual players were beginning to become Jonins, but none of them could fully awaken their aspect in the real world without the pods.
But they did get slightly stronger, yet no one suspected a thing.
Yet, the major corporations in the world were not the same.
Purchasing of the RangerTech pods were at an all time high, and almost everyone inside of the main cities who didn't have crucial jobs to run society were playing the game 24/7.
Yuki said it didn't even take a lot to convince his dad to give Ayumi a pod. She even got to live in a bigger space, albeit still in the underground, but his dad managed to pull some strings.
But it was clear that the world was preparing for a massive change, and I was trying to make sure I was at the forefront of it.
I had already recruited 2 more people to my 'guild,' making my total with Ayumi 5 people.
The other 2 being Geppo's teammate, or Sora-senseis other students.
They obviously were not rotten apples like Geppo himself, and were actually useful. Geppo himself got sent into the Genin corp and was under massive punishment from the entire village.
The other 2 students, Ryuko Nakamura and Mio Suzuki each had become Jonin and were both actually friends from the ground.
Their families weren't as rich as Yuki's but they were able to get themselves pods.
The best part was, each of them also had gotten A-rank aspects of their own.
They were lucky enough to get missions similar to Yuki's were they didn't require a massive grind, but just one requirement to complete.
Ayumi herself, who got a grinding quest similar to mine, was basically almost done with hers too, which is amazing news.
Because I could tell all my senseis were pushing us to get stronger, probably due to the second phase of the war that was coming.
We had already basically defeated the Hidden Cloud, but they were still trying to attack back for their Jinchuriki, but it was weird that we have yet to pass back the Jinchuriki to the cloud.
Normally the Hidden Leaf was the type to leverage this into a peaceful settlement but it seems like that was not the case here.
Well other than my squad, something that I had also been trying to focus on was my Stats.
Mainly being my stats for Physique and Chakra. Both of which I was training with Guy-sensei more than anything.
Him, Lee, Neji and Tenten had been training with me too which helped my Shadow Dance proficiency a lot as well.
It did also help me get a lot closer to Tenten, who was a weird character to get to know at first. But when she began speaking to me and changed her mindset a lot, she realized I wasn't that bad of a person.
With my Shadow Dance, I was able to learn more of Neji's different styles of Taijutsu, which is the same for me with Lee and Guy sensei too.
And other than that, I did manage to get really close to Ino which was a blessing in and off itself. It has been a fruitful 4 months, and I was about to get another massive boon, since I believe I have just figured out Sora-senseis training.
