The duvet was covering her up to the neck. Her right hand was covered with the hand of her husband. Nicholas kept hold of her hand under the blanket as he watched her. Sleep did not come to him in the dead of the night as he watched her breath. Fear still gripped him of losing his wife for she did wake up from sleep. He slapped himself in his mind.

‘Who knows how long was she unconscious? Did they feed her properly? Hey did not take care of her at all, and I ignored her.’ He feared what worse could have happened if he had not sent Adela to take care of her.
