The night grew darker and colder, and the silence in Trevor's room made him uneasy. He thought about what Dr Clyde had told him when he had asked him what he could do to get his heat cycle regular! The answer was not what he had expected.
He remembered the apologetic look on the doctor's face when he told him that if he wanted to stop his heat coming so unprompted, the only way was to have sex with his mate and bond with him. Trevor was frustrated by this answer, the doctor basically said that his well being depended on someone else! This was too absurd for him.
The feeling of sex addiction, the dependence, the weakness, the deregulation of his heat, all of it was new to Trevor. He felt helpless in the face of these feelings and did not know what to do with them. He was not used to being weak and dependent on someone else. Trevor loved his autonomy. He had learned to control his heat to the point where there was no difference from other days when he was in heat.
But now, just one day after finding his so-called mate, he was again weak and even desperate for sex, staying home again for safety or peace of mind, and the most annoying thing was that this heat period was even worse! He had never felt so desperate to have someone inside him and it was really hard to fight that feeling, causing him even more pain than before. He felt helpless and pathetic, not like the situation he was in now at all.
Max returned to Trevor's room with a slight smile and brought a tray of food.
"I'm assuming you're hungry after everything that's happened, so I ask the restaurant to bring us some food."
"I'm not really ..." Trevor wasn't hungry at all, he had so much on his mind that he wasn't really thinking about food. But when he looked into Max's caring eyes, he couldn't bring himself to say no, "Thank you, Max."
"No problem" Max placed the tray on Trevor's bed, then sat down right in front of it and waited for him to start eating.
Trevor thought it was cute that he was acting so caring, but it was too much for him. "If he's going to act like this, how am I going to resist him?" thought Trevor.
"Why are you still here? I'm fine, you know ... you can go back"
"Don't mind me, I just want to make sure you eat and then I'll be gone"
Max was really eager to see Trevor recover. It was hard for him to see him in pain like this. He had never felt like this before, it was like he could feel his pain, his heart hurt so much and he was so scared the first time Trevor fainted. He found it incredible how his heart could beat so hard for someone he had only met the day before. He wanted to know more about him and couldn't wait to do more with him.
Trevor reluctantly began to eat since Mr. Max was so adamant about watching him. As they ate, Trevor wondered if Max had eaten himself, he had been taking care of him since they had gotten home... "Max, did you eat yourself?"
"I haven't, but ..." Trevor interrupted, popping a spoonful of rice into his mouth.
"You should take care of yourself before you take care of other people"
"But you are...."
"I'll just have dessert" Trevor interrupted Max again. He really wasn't that hungry, so he gladly gave Max his food to finish and added, "You should go back and rest too."
"Can't I just stay here and sleep by your side like I did the other day? You'll feel much better." Max ate in silence. He didn't want Trevor to get sick again, so he wanted to be by his side and release his pheromones so Trevor wouldn't be in pain.
"I don't want a repeat of what happened that day, I hope you understand!" Trevor tried his best to resist Max, the physical attraction between them was hard to ignore, and Max being so attached to him wasn't helping at all!
Max just sighed before walking out. He went back to his room, feeling very tired himself, because even though he wanted to take care of Trevor, his rut was also driving him crazy. He didn't know he had this much self-control until now. Just being around Trevor was killing him! But before he thought about himself, he had to make sure Trevor was okay. He was very surprised himself at how Trevor was already taking the first place in his heart.
Lying on his bed, he pulled out his phone to call his father. "Hello dad, how can I make someone fall in love with me?"
"Max! It's almost 12 pm.! I don't have time to answer your boring question! Let me sleep in peace!" Maxime groaned, he had thought something urgent had happened since Max didn't usually call him!
"If you stop the call, I'll waive your land purchase!", that was how Max and his father's relationship had always worked. They always knew how to get the other to give up.
"Eh!! you ungrateful son! okay ... so what's up with 'making someone fall in love with you'? I thought a lot of people are already in love with you. Isn't that why you can switch partners, like shirts?" Maxime scoffed
"You and I know it's not genuine, it's about my money or my body, anyway it's always about something... But this one doesn't seem to care about any of that!"
"So, let him be if he's not interested in you! Don't give another parent a hard time just because you want to have a man in your bed!"
"It's not that, Dad! What kind of man do you think I am?" Max was frustrated at his father's view of him.
"I already told you that all I expect from you is that you don't force yourself into another child!"
"Dad, how can you even think I can do something like that? I'm your son, you know..."
"I know, and that's why I welcome you to my house anyway!" Maxime chortled at Max, who was growing more and more annoyed at his joke.
Max sighed, "Dad, I'm serious. I think I feel something for this one person! but... " *sigh* "For me, it's the first time. I'm not so sure, he seems really distant to me... I don't know how to decrease this distance..."
Maxime, who had his wife lying on his chest while he was talking to his son, sat up as soon as he heard what Max said! "When you said different, what exactly do you mean?" He asked cautiously but in an excited voice!
Max touched his chest and felt his heart. "Well, my heart beats faster when I hear his voice when he smiles I'm happy, when he's in pain I'm in pain too, when someone touches him I just want to cut that hand... And my little guy down there responds to his pheromones!..."
"OMG... Gina wakes up!!! We're going to have a grandchild, ahah our family won't end with your son!!!! Maxime was beside himself with joy. Gina woke up from her sleep, still in a daze!
"Why are you so excited!!! It's the middle of the night!"
"Your son can finally give us a grandchild!!!" He repeated with a fierce smile as he put Max on speakers, "Max I'm telling you if you can't win this person I will let you down!!!" He yelled at his son!
Max on the other end of the phone was stunned by his parent's excitement! "Dad, before you think about the grandson, answer my question first!"
"Talk to your mother! I don't know ... She was the one who made me fall in love with her! She used all sorts of tricks to get me attached to her," Maxime said proudly. Gina just looked at him with a mocking smile "aren't you the one who follows me everywhere and begs me to give you a chance?" Max just laughed as his father was knocked back.
"Anyway, I'm more interested in this grandchild news. Care to explain?", Gina asked Max.
"Mom, Dad will tell you. But first, you help me here. How can I seduce someone?" asked Max quite desperately.
That night he talked to his parents for at least two hours, listening to all the ways he could win someone's heart. All he had kept was that he should always respect the other person and act with love and sincerity.
They had been trying to figure out who this person was, but Max didn't want them to know until he was confident enough to win his heart.
The weekend had passed and Max and Trevor hadn't had much to do with each other. Trevor did everything he could to avoid Max during the weekend. Since he had no family, he just decided to spend those two days with Grandpa Maxwell.
This little time away from Max was a blessing for Trevor, at least it gave him something else to think about. All this doom and gloom had been messing with his head. He had also taken a little time to ask Grandpa Maxwell more questions about it.
Talking to him was like talking to his own grandfather, so he felt more comfortable saying what was bothering him.
Trevor helped the old man by rubbing his back, "Grandfather, I wanted to know if you really need to be with your soul mate when you have the chance to met him?"
"It's not an obligation, but not doing so has a lot of consequences that can lead you to death or a pretty sad life! Why do you ask?" Maxwell already knew what was going on, Dr Clyde had told him the news, and in fact, he and Trevor's grandfather had talked about their grandson's life and found out that they had had similar experiences, they always wanted them to meet and thought that maybe they were meant for each other.
Trevor sighed deeply. "So basically it's still kind of a commitment ..."
"Yeah, you can look at it that way ... But why are you asking me this question? Have you found your soulmate?"
"I ... maybe" Trevor couldn't lie to the old man in front of him... He had never had the courage to lie to his grandfather before.
"Isn't this a good thing? Why don't you seem so excited about it?" Maxwell replied, motioning for Trevor to sit in front of him.
"I don't know ... I just don't think it's right to just commit to someone else like that without even knowing that person ..."
"Knowing someone isn't a problem, you can just give some of your time and open your mind and heart to really appreciate someone."
"Yeah... But I just feel like it's something I'm forced to do, I know I should be happy, it's not something that happens to everyone but... I don't.
"If you're not ready for mating and bonding, then you don't have to rush into anything, you can take the time you need..." Maxwell knew Trevor was someone who liked to take his time before doing anything. It was understandable since he didn't have an easy life, so caution was something he had learned to do in all sorts of situations.
"But will this person give me the time I need? I don't even really know him... I don't know if I should trust him,"
"He should give you the time you need if he respects you... You're not wrong, trust has to be earned... If you still don't feel comfortable, talk to that someone and tell him all your worries. True partners have to share their burden."
Trevor just listened to Maxwell in silence. Everything he said made sense, he really needed to talk to Max and see how things went.
"But Trevor, do you also think of what your soulmate might feel? For as hard as it is for you, it may not be that funny for him too. Alphas are very protective and caring of their soulmate by nature, and even more so when the soulmate is an Omega," Maxwell said with a reassuring look, "don't worry too much child... it'll be fine... But I'm already very curious to know who this lucky guy is!"
