Leonel's mind accelerated to the point he could almost see the movement of the bullets through the air on a frame by frame basis.
As old and dated as Double Shot's pistols looked, they shot with a speed beyond anything an old western movie could match. In fact, if those two shots were fired off in a Third Dimensional world, even space itself would be torn apart to carve a path out for them.
With that speed came a lack of responses Leonel could make. He was at most 50 meters from Double Shot and the speed of the bullets wouldn't allow him to tilt his head and neck out the way in time. Or… Rather it wouldn't have had Leonel reacted to the two shots as opposed to Manson's words.
Leonel's ability had been entirely focused on Manson, and more specifically the movement of her muscles, from the very beginning. The moment her throat prepped to speak, he had already picked up on it.

Awespec Firstly, I'd like to say sorry about the lack of chapters yesterday. I had an appointment that ran late and when I got home and tried to force myself to write, the chapters that came out made me gag, lmao. Publishing chapters for a daily serialization is like constantly having control over the nuke codes, one mistake could derail the whole story. But at the same time, it's impossible to plan out every detail ahead of time -- your favorite authors are just very good at winging it sometimes (shhh, don't tell them I told you guys this secret). That said, your favorite authors are also good at having a vision in mind ahead of time and sticking to it too, and yesterday I almost set mine completely off course.
Anyway, before I get too off topic, my failure yesterday made me realize that your boy needs a small break. I need to rest my mind and especially my fingers for a bit. So, I will be taking the next two days off. I will be back on Saturday to ease myself back into the groove of things with a light two chapter upload again. Since I've failed win-win, I might as well reset until the turn of the next month (China time).
