章 25: Magdalo

Two Months prior to these events

Emilio Aguinaldo is a 16 yr old student from Colegio de San Juan de Letran but his studies was halted because of an outbreak of cholera 3 years prior, this event led to Aguinaldo looking for other avenues of knowledge and various books about war stratagems from chinese merchants became his source of knowledge, these books spurred his ambitions especially those books containing information about the conquests of Alexander The Great which took a special place in his heart.

Because of Renaldo's interference, a butterfly effect resulted in the Philippine Revolution's early iteration which led to Aguinaldo also joining the cause. Leandro, Renaldo's spymaster spread the flames of Revolution throughout the whole Luzon, which exceeded Renaldo's orders of just starting off of the first 8 provinces who rose against Spain. He established a secret organization called The Revolutionary Order, numbering a staggering amount of 100,000 revolutionaries in the whole island of Luzon! This is more than enough for Renaldo at the moment because his weapons and technology is much more advance compared to the Spanish who are still using outdated technology and stratagems even if you compare it to this era's state of arms and technology. The situation on the Spanish mainland is different though, as they are using state of the art weapons and technology but the current technology that they use in the Philippines can be traced back to the era of line infantry. This shows that the Spaniards doesn't take the indios seriously which works for Renaldo's cause as he can conquer the archipelago with minimal losses on his part.

Emilio saw the establishment of such organization as a fulfillment of his plans, a step forward towards his dreams and his goals of attaining achievements much like his idol, Alexander The Great, this led to him joining the organization through a friend of his. He quickly rose through the ranks due to his charisma, he used the pseudonym Magdalo while rising through the ranks, he won the hearts of many Cavitenos this led to the establishment of his own faction he called the Magdalo, numbering around 200 people at the start but with every battle that Aguinaldo won, the numbers rose until he achieved his current member count of 10,000 Magdalo members.

With a huge amount of followers who are willing to fight for him, Aguinaldo won battles after battles, from the Kawit Revolt to the infamous Battle of Imus where Aguinaldo almost died in the first skirmish but routed the enemy through ambushing them in the second one.

With every victory, Aguinaldo's thirst for power became apparent as he scurried for more men to join him, using the agenda of the revolution to gather power for himself. He treated his men with utmost care while putting those who did not agree with him to the frontlines.

With his various victories, Aguinaldo is blinded by delusions of grandeur and power coupled with actual power and his victories, Aguinaldo is currently sky high in his delusions, even his men believes that Aguinaldo should lead the revolution, not that spoiled brat of a mestizo from the north, the one people often calls as the king, he is a king of nothing! With nothing to his name! No lands and no titles, their general is currently winning battles after battles in Cavite yet that king can't even conquer the capital and even asked for their help in cornering the Spaniards to the South! Aguinaldo should be king!

This mindset is prevalent in the magdalo faction but just in it alone, the various factions outside this group are well coordinated by the spy network of Leandro, this is the only faction that is unique as they have been drunk in their own consecutive victories and they are frogs in the well, so Leandro never gave them the weapons issued by Renaldo as he thinks that this group has a high probability of betraying or separating from the army, with the whole Magdalo faction thinking that fighting a measly number of around 1000-4000 Spaniards is a big feat compared to Renaldo crushing almost 27,000 Spanish currently garrisoned in Manila. (Though he has a big advantage in firepower hehe).

Present Time

Aguinaldo's Magdalo faction is currently marching towards Malacañang bringing with them their various weapons consisting of krupps and nordenfelts carried by their wagons while the infantry are equipped with a variety of Remingtons and M93s, and also some lantakas(portable bronze cannon) They were armed to the teeth but the lack of discipline is apparent in the army as they are not in marching formation, some are even drinking lambanog while marching, a massive mistake in war.

Aguinaldo ordered his men to set up camp for the night as he thinks that the soldiers need some rest because they will reach Malacañang tomorrow, he is already thinking about how he'll snatch power by being the first one to conquer the capital, which will be a significant achievement especially in wars like this.

Aguinaldo then appointed people for night patrols and spent some time thinking of strategies with his men, for tomorrow, they will conquer the capital.

A morning of blood is coming...
