Clarissa wondered what he needed her help with that would require planning a party he was obviously not interested in. "With what?"

"I know you can see through Martha's character..."

"Anyone can see through that. It's so fake."

"There are all types of fools in this world, so many that you wouldn't believe..."

"I know. It's one reason I don't depend on anyone."

"Could you let me finish?" Kieran asked, frustrated by her constant interruptions. 

She held her hand up as if to say 'Fine.'

"Some of those fools happen to be in the order."

Clarissa opened her mouth to ask a question but the warning glare he had on his face made her quiet and let him continue.
