It was far past midnight by the time she finally fell asleep and I could lay next to her, gently stroking her soft blond hair as she breathed gently in a heavy slumber.

I love her so much. Let me make that clear. Seeing her so upset by the blood and the look on her face as she begged me to change hurt deep inside. In an ideal world, I'd have the freedom to drop everything and become the man she so desperately wants me to be.

But I have thousands of people relying on me.

I can't let her change me.

And I can't let her change what people thought of me.
