Dara's eyes opened due to the knocks at the door. She got up and opened the door. It was Greg.
"Dara I want to have a word with you." he spoke.
"Sure Dad." Dara said while rubbing her eyes.
The both went to Dara's bed and sat.
"You seem distracted." Greg told.
"I'm fine Dad." Dara smiled.
"Dara I'm your father. I know you more than you know yourself." Greg spoke, "Now tell me what the matter is?"
"Nothing at all Dad."
"Being your father, I can't let you keep things inside you and fight them alone. I know there's something troubling you."
"Dad ummm…it's just that I'm worried for the spring ball." Dara lied.
"Why are you worried about the ball?"
"Well, I have nothing to wear to the ball."
"When is the ball?"
"It's tomorrow."
"Hmmm…get up." Greg got up from the bed.
"But where are we going?"
"We are going to get you a beautiful dress for the ball."
"Dad you don't have to. I'll just wear anything to the ball."
"If I said that we're going to get you a dress then that means that we are and I don't want to listen anything."
Dara smiled at her father and got up. They both went upstairs.
"Off to somewhere?" Ellen asked.
"We're going to buy a new dress for Dara's spring ball." Greg told.
"Sweetheart you didn't tell me about the ball?" Ellen questioned.
"I was planning not to go." answered Dara.
"Why not? These are the events you'll miss when you grow up." Ellen smiled at her.
"You want to come along." Greg asked from Ellen.
"I wish I could. I was planning to cook something." uttered Ellen.
"Okay we'll be back in no time and then we're going to have a good family time together." Greg smiled.
They both left the house. They soon reached a shop which had a lot of beautiful dresses. Dara didn't know what to select. It was hard for her to make decision from all those beautiful dresses placed there. It was her first time she went out for shopping. She wasn't interested in shopping stuff and Ellen had to buy clothes for Dara of her choice.
"How about this one?" Greg showed a dress to Dara.
"I don't know Dad. We can pick up any one of the dresses. They are all beautiful."
"You tell me which one do you like here?"
"They are all beautiful. We can buy the one you like."
"Come let's check on the other side."
They both went to the other side of the shop. There was a beautiful red colored dress which caught Dara's eyes. It was the most gorgeous from all the dresses. Dara quickly checked the price tag of the dress. It was too expensive. She could get three dresses from that shop with the price of that red one.
"You like it?" Greg asked.
Dara quickly left the price tag and replied, "Not much. Let's go look there."
"You go. I'll be there in a bit."
Dara walked further and started to check out more dresses. After sometime Greg called her from behind, "Let's go princess. I've got your dress."
"Which one is that?"
"I'll show you as soon as we reach home."
Dara was excited to see which dress was it. They grabbed some ice-cream along their way and soon reached home.
"Won't you show me your new dress?" Ellen smiled.
"I haven't seen it either." smirked Dara.
"It is a surprise." Greg gave the shopping bag to Dara.
They all went to the living room and sat on the sofas. Dara took out the box from the bag.
"Open it up dear. I'm excited to see." Ellen uttered.
Dara opened the box. She got shocked to see her dress. Her eyes filled with tears. She suddenly hugged her father, "Thank you Dad!"
"Now no more gifts till your birthday." Greg chuckled.
"You didn't have to but me this." Dara said.
"I knew you liked it."
"How did you know that?"
"I told you I'm your father and I know what is happening in your mind and heart." Greg hugged Dara again.
"This dress can cost fortune for a normal person." Ellen spoke, "It is so beautiful Greg."
"It is the exact match for our daughter." smiled Greg.
Dara was so happy and excited to have her dress but at the same time she was gloomy too. She was sad because Wade had left again. She wanted to join the ball with him.
"Who's ready for some lasagna?" Ellen brought a tray of lasagna to the table. Three of them had good food. After wards they watched a film, talked about their old memories and then went to their rooms at last.
Dara sat on her bed and took out her dress. She looked at it with the most satisfying eyes. "If Wade was here, he would have loved it. I know he loves the color red." She put her dress back in the closet and went to sleep.
"Dara!" Wade called her.
Dara got up with a shock, "Wade!" She looked here and there in her room and found herself all alone. She picked up her phone and tried to call him but he didn't answer her calls. "Why does he runs away every time?" she sighed.
She got up and went to the bathroom to wash her face. She went upstairs to have her breakfast. She was feeling dizzy and sick.
"You've been sleeping a lot today honey." Ellen smiled.
Dara looked at the time. It was afternoon. She still felt tired.
"I don't feel good." she gasped.
"Come have something to eat." Ellen uttered, "I'll make you some sandwiches."
"Mom can I have some meat today?"
"Should I make you a beef sandwich?"
"Yeah sure Mom. Thank you!"
Ellen made a delicious beef sandwich for Dara. Dara took about two bites and then she left it, "I feel so sick. I should go to my room."
"But finish your food sweetie."
"Mom I'll eat when I get well. My stomach is upset I think." Dara went to her room. She felt so sick. She was about to vomit. She rushed to the toilet and vomited. Her body carved for blood and flesh. She couldn't control herself. She sat on her bed. Her eyes changed to golden and goose bumps grew all over her body. She became stiff. Her sharp teeth started to come out. She was losing her senses.
The maid came inside her room with a glass of milk. She came close to Dara. Dara was facing the other side.
"Madam asked me to give you some milk." the maid put her hand on Dara's shoulder.
Dara suddenly turned around and jumped on the maid. She sucked out blood from the maid's neck. They both fell on the floor and the milk in maid's hand also fell down. Dara sucked her blood until she was dead. She sucked it as if she was thirsty for years. She wasn't herself at the moment. While sucking, she started to eat the flesh too. Slowly she started to change into a wolf. She was a big wolf but her color wasn't dark anymore. She was as white as snow. She was a huge white wolf now. She ate the maid from her stomach. She ate her and showed no mercy.
Ellen screamed as soon as she entered the room. Dara looked at her and ran outside the room passing from beside her mother. She ran outside the house and kept on running. Many people outside saw her and got scared. She was a beautiful big white wolf but the blood on her face scared everyone. She ran until she reached the sea shore.
She transformed back into a human or should we call her a vampire? She was naked. She needed some clothes. Suddenly on her left side, she saw some clothes on a stone. There was a pair of trousers and a shirt. These were her clothes. She quickly wore them and thought, "Who could have brought them here?" She went to the sea and washed her face. She was now carving for some milk. She rushed back to her house. It was a crowd of people outside the house. People were gossiping and shouting. They were there because they saw the big white wolf running outside that house and that Ellen shouted that the wolf had killed her maid.
Dara ignored everyone and went to the kitchen. There was only one gallon of milk in the fridge. She drank it all. She wanted more milk. She thought to go to the market and buy some more milk for herself. Ellen saw Dara leaving the house.
"Dara! Where were you?" Ellen rushed towards Dara and hugged her.
"I went out for a walk."
"You shouldn't be outside honey. There are deadly wolves roaming around. Do you know what happened with our maid just some moments earlier?" Ellen cried.
"Mom I'm careful."
"Where are you going now?"
"To the super market to get some milk."
"But there's milk in the refrigerator."
"I drank it all."
"It was a gallon I think."
"I know Mom. I'll be back in a second. Don't worry."
"Okay then go with the driver. I don't want you to go alone."
"I love you Mom!" Dara hugged her mother and sat in the car.
She reached the supermarket. She drank another gallon of milk and then another. She took two more gallons of milk to take with her. She reached back home. She felt okay now. She wasn't sick anymore.
"Is this happening because of the pregnancy?" Dara thought, "I never had this much milk before. I wish Wade was here to tell me."
