Wade made it back to their chambers to find Marie just waking up. "There y'all are." She said rubbing her still tired eyes.
"Yes my love we managed to find our way back to you." He said in a playful manner. "I noticed this red mark on Gracelyns finger and took her to Angie to ask her about it." He said as he placed Gracelyn in her arms.
"Angie said it's a beauty mark"
"Yes darling she told me the same when I asked." Wade just rolled his eyes and shook his head. Why don't the fathers get to be there when their children are born so that we know what's going on before we worry ourselves about what's going on with our newborn babies. He thought to himself.
"How are you feeling?" He asked right after kissing his wife's forehead. "Much better now" she said smiling at Gracelyn. "I'm glad your doing better but you both need to get some rest. Feed her then I'll get her asleep so you can get some rest my love." Wade kissed Marie and when she was done feeding her he picked up Gracelyn and made his way to the table where Tasha already had everything ready to get her changed and cleaned up for her nap.
"Thank you Tasha that will be all for today. Tell the guards that they are not to be disturbed they need their rest."
"Yes your majesty." Tasha bowed and left the room quietly to do as she was told.
Wade watched them sleep for a while and decided to get something nice for his wife and newborn baby girl. As he made his way to the market to look around to see when he could find he came across an elderly woman selling blankets she made herself.
"Hello your majesty how may I help you on this beautiful day?" She old woman asked as she picked herself up from her chair with her cane.
"Looking for something specific or are you just looking?" She continued to ask after she stood up all the way.
"I'm looking for a few blankets for the newborn princess Gracelyn." He said but before he could take a good look at them she held her finger out and said "I've got the perfect blankets for the perfect princess!" She said with such excitement in her voice. "Here sire here. What do you think of these?" She handed him brightly colored blankets with beautiful flowers on one. The other had clouds and a rainbow with the sun along side it. And one with the moon and stars on it. The last one he picked up was his favorite. It was pink and gold and had a heart with a crown over it and he knew that was the one she would love most.
"I'll take these four. How much?"
"For the birth of our princess Gracelyn they are a gift of love your majesty." She said bowing to the king.
"We thank you very much but I'm sure you worked very hard to make these take this for your time and hard work." He said with a smile handing the old woman two gold coins for each blanket.
"Bless you your majesty! Bless you!" She said to him in tears. The king continued to find something special for his wife. Just then he saw a young man trying to sell jewelry. The young man was trying to show people walking by and trying to get them to buy from his cart when he noticed the king walking towards him. He hurried to find some of the jewelry he had for men and asked if he was interested in the jewelry he had.
"It's all very nice but I'm looking to get something for the queen. Something special." He said to the young man as he was looking at the different jewelry he had on display.
"Anything specific your looking for your majesty?" The young man asked with a questionable look on his face. "I was informed that a princess was born this morning." He said smiling at the king.
"Yes princess Gracelyn." He said with a nod.
"Maybe the queen would like this?" He asked grabbing a silver necklace that had a halo and angel wings with diamonds in it.
"Angel wings for my angels I'll take two" the king said while handing the young man more than enough gold coins to buy ten.
"Your majesty I cannot accept this much. Your too kind."
"Today is a blessed day I just want to help give blessings." He said as he started back to his horse. When he arrived in the chambers he found Marie awake and holding Gracelyn as she slept. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of his whole world right in front of him. Then the thought of Gracelyn having to be married to a prince again and a frown settled on his face.
"Is everything alright my sweet?" Marie asked when she looked up and seen Wade upset. Quickly he pushed the thought out of his head and smiled "I am now." He said walking to the bed to sit on the bed next to them.
"I have something for you both." He said with a big smile on his face. Marie's eyes widened with excitement and a very high pitch "Really?!" came bursting out. Wade put a beautifully wrapped boxed on the bed next to her and grabbed his daughter from her. Marie rushed to open it and tears of joy ran down her face.
"Is beautiful my love thank you!" She said wrapping him in a hug. "What's that?" She asked when he set something down to put Gracelyn in her bed.
"That is for Gracelyn and she can have it when she wakes up."
He said playfully. "I want to see" she said wondering what he got for a newborn. Her eyes filled with tears again when he showed her what he bought for Gracelyn and seen they had matching necklaces.
"Honey this is too much what can we do for you?" Marie asked while holding him tightly.
"Live long happy lives." He said then kissed her passionately.
