"ATTENTION PLAYERS. I WELCOME YOU TO MY WORLD."
"MY NAME IS AKIHOKO KAYABA. AS OF THIS MOMENT I AM IN CONTROL OF THIS WORLD."
"I am sure most of you have already noticed an item missing in your menu. The Log Out Button. I assure you it is not a defect in the game. It is the default."
"You cannot LOG OUT of SAO and no one from the outside will be able to remove NerveGear can do forcefully do so. If anyone tries that. Then a small transmitter in the NerveGear will send a microwave signal into your skull, destroying your brain and ending your life."
Aransae watched massive avatar towering over everyone in Red Cape, "Woah, that's hardcore."
He pressed his lips, "Sadly. I can't let this place stay under one person's control. It would be hard for us to hide if someone's watching."
Technically, he had no clue how to control the electronics. Let alone something as grand as a VR game like this one. Though what he could do was feed massive energy into it through one of the nerve gears, and once the Dungeon Energy was inside. It was his property.
"Now."
The world around every one of them glitched, and mirrors appeared in front of them, transforming them. Akihiko Kayaba's massive avatar started breaking apart, blasting. It transformed into blue green particles that went back into this world.
He looked around, most people were in confusions and some of them were running out of the town square, "What should I do?"
They were all part of the game, and it wasn't just a few people. There were close to 30 people, maybe more since they were coming all three worlds. Not feeling good about the crowd, he couldn't control it was the worst idea to be in such a sizeable crowd.
So, he decided something simple. He asked them to play however they wanted and if they met in the middle of the game then good. He planned to get to know them more than physically this time. Although he had taken control away from Akihiko Kayaba, that didn't mean he controlled this place. All he had was partial control of the city and its surroundings.
He looked behind at the square, people crying, confused, chaotic. He walked away from it, "Yeah...I am not ready to deal with that."
No one would expect a normal person to deal with that. But for someone at his position, it came as a default expectation. Responsibility to help these people. That's how he felt. Only, he wasn't ready for that yet.
He left the town at his own leisure, taking the straight path out of the town, which was surrounded by grasslands. He swiped his left finger, opening the menu before he took the sword out of the storage. He watched the numbers and screen float in front of him, "Cardinal System. I could take that for the Dungeon."
"One Cardinal would never be enough for the Dungeon. If I use Cardinal System with Boss Monsters...or put Cardinal System in Boss Monsters," he swung the sword once, then twice, getting a good feel of it.
He walked across the field, looking for monsters when he came upon a boar, only to see being followed by another player who killed it, "Hm..."
He looked around, seeing the forest in the distance, "I could go there..."
He started walking towards the forest. As he got away from the town, he noticed more boars in the wild and fewer people. He stopped in front of a boar, grabbing the hilt of his sword with both hands. He had used a sword to fight in the Dungeon, since he needed a weapon, but he was never good at it.
Although, if he used the sword users, dreamers, or those who had knowledge of it. He tried to collect all that knowledge in his hands, spreading through his arms and back. He planned to make a wing of the warrior when the golden glow cracked, blasted and disappeared.
He blanked out, seeing the boar rush towards him, "I failed...?"
He backed away, dodging the boar, swinging the sword at it. He nicked it, leaving behind a red gash on its body, seeing the data particles leaking.
He recollected the knowledge across his body. He started swinging the sword, this time much better than his few slices. The boar got hit hard, backing away a few steps, nearly falling over. It turned and started rushing towards him. He hit it again and backed away, before hitting it one more time, and another, until the boar finally died.
"Should this be this hard?" Aransae looked at his experience points. He got 3 Exp Points from killing it, 2 Col, which was the currency, "I need 30 for next level. That means ten of these..."
He thoughtfully looked at the people behind him, desperately looking for one kill. He was about to turn and walk away when he noticed one of their swords shine and do extensive damage to the boar, "that's a skill..."
He restarted his journey towards the forest with a curious look in his eyes. He scanned the menu, tapping on the first icon where he found the skill menu.
"Slant...I already have that," He looked at the description. A video popped up under the description, showing him how to follow the skill, which he gladly did. The sword lit up, and his arm moved on its own. He did it once more. The golden glow around his arm rippled, giving him so much more feedback than the system.
It was almost as if he knew if the skill was being done wrong. He adjusted his posture, slicing again. This time, the sword lit up, but without the automatic skill activating.
Aransae took a deep breath, gripping the hilt of the sword, "this is so much fun."
He marched towards the forest, ignoring the boars he kept from now on until he came across another monster. It was a bee this time, about the size of his forearm.
He swung the sword, only for the bee to easily dodge. He narrowed his eyes, "Slant."
He swung the sword again, this time with a glow on it, hitting the bee right in the face with this diagonal slash. It staggered the Bee long enough for him to slash two more times, effectively killing the monster, "this is supposed to be a death game... I thought it would be harder...?"
He closed his eyes. Diving inside his memories, remembering Aransae Spindra, his personality. He imagined what he would do. He knelt in front of the Bee, picking up the Red Fruit, which restored HP.
He kept in the storage, "He would say..."
He stopped, hearing Spindra in his voice, "Right...I can't use my threads. I wonder if I can make them? I might need Blacksmithing or a Blacksmith. Hm, no. I want to learn to cook rather than Blacksmithing."
He kept walking towards the forest, seeing the rising number of monsters. He started killing them one after the other, collecting their loot. It was monotonous. Not that he cared. With lack of liking of disliking, he could keep killing without getting tired.
It only took an hour before he reached Level 2 with more than enough SP to get Vertical and Horizontal Slash. He continued killing the monsters for the next few hours until he reached Level 3, and then until morning, finally making it to the Level 4.
He wiped the sweat off his cheek, blinking as he watched the Large Nepenthes disappear. It gave him the most Experience. 45 Exp Points which allowed him to reach level 4.
He needed 130 more to reach Level 5, which he could surely do in another day, "I need someone normal to tell me how they are progressing in the game."
He stretched his arms, pulling on his fingers. He looked at the canopy of the forest as the sunlight came through the leaves, "time to go back to the city...I wonder how it went for others."
