My heart didn't stop burning. After the monarch took one step towards me and the guards pushed me away, my body seemed to burn. Beads of perspiration appeared on my face as I felt the cold gush of air around me. I should have succumbed to the freezing temperature around me yet some power kept me alive.

I saw the pendant glow green and then vanish repeatedly under the faint light as it floated up in the air away from my buttoned dress. This time, it would surely not be able to protect me from getting torn by the great teeth below. I couldn't steer away from the peaked rocks as they seemed to stretch out quite far from the white, sandy shore. There was no way in all of eternity for me to live until the wormhole appeared again.
