章 38: Not ready for the big revelation...
"Guys… I think you both are forgetting that I'm still around you. So it'll be best for both of you to mark my presence and stop bitching about me right on my face." Katherine warned them, while gritting her teeth in extreme anger.
Both Ethan and Olivia who were busy in their own kind of conversation, stopped immediately, hearing Katherine's dead tone.
They knew that now it was their time to stop all the leg pulling that they were doing. Otherwise, they need to face big consequences for it.
"Oh, Kathy! We don't have the guts to bitch about you. It was just I was trying to reminisce through our old beautiful days.
By the way, I'm not going to take anymore time of yours. Otherwise, I'll be late. So bye darling. Bye Ethan." Olivia said waving her hands to both of them.
Katherine smiled at her and said, "Yeah, bye. Drive safe."
Nodding her head, Olivia was about to leave when Ethan interjected, "Uhmm, Kathy.. I'll see your friend off till outside. Can you please make a cup of coffee for me till then?"
"Oh sure! I'll just be back with your coffee in two minutes." Katherine said smilingly, walking inside the kitchen.
After she left from there, Ethan gestured Olivia to come out and she obediently followed him outside.
As soon as they were outside of the house, Ethan didn't waste even a single second to turn towards Olivia and mumbled out the only two words which was like a life extension for him, "Thank you.."
Olivia arched one of her eyebrows towards him and asked, "For which one of the reasons? For accompanying your wife to relieve boredom or for hiding the truth?"
Ethan sighed at her direct question and replied in a low voice, "For both actually. Thanks for being with her while I was out.
But you have to agree with me on the second matter that it was actually you who had prohibited me from telling Kathy the actual relationship that we share. So it ain't my fault. And you can't even blame me for this."
It was not something extraordinary or very much difficult for Olivia to utilise that whatever Ethan was saying was absolutely true.
It was herself only who didn't want to break the news to Kathy like this… at least not this soon.
But what could she do otherwise?
Nothing!
So she just bowed her head a little and murmured in a low voice, "It's not completely my fault also. You know why I'm doing all of this…right?"
Running his fingers through his hair, Ethan could only sigh exasperatedly and retorted back, "I know.. But we should at least have told her about us not being strangers.
We should have already confessed to her that we have known each other from long ago. Then things wouldn't be so awkward like now."
"I know right! And trust me, Ethan. I'm also not feeling any less guilty than you. But I'm still not ready for the big revelation.
So please, let's put a pause on this topic for now. At least, for me.." Olivia literally begged in front of Ethan, making him sigh in defeat.
Nodding his head, he said, "Okay, fine.. I think you should leave now. Otherwise you're gonna be late."
"Yeah.. I should. Bye." Saying this, Olivia entered into her car and drove away from there.

"Ta-da…" Katherine exclaimed excitedly as soon as Ethan came downstairs after taking an afternoon nap.
Ethan who was still having a lazy attitude, suddenly sat up with a jerk on the couch and looked at Katherine with groggy eyes.
He was about to ask what happened when a sweet aroma reached his nostrils, while his eyes made their way towards the thing Katherine was holding in her hand.
"Woah! A chocolate cake?" Ethan literally shouted in excitement, noticing the beautifully baked and decorated cake, presented in front of him.
Just by looking at it, Ethan could feel his stomach growling in hunger and his throat getting dry..
And why not, when it was actually droolworthy!
"You baked it?" Ethan asked like a dumb child, asking his mother about a gift which she had brought for her son.
Katherine just rolled her eyes at him and said in a monotonic voice, "No…"
