章 24: One of a kind...

Her each word rang into Ethan's ears like a soothing music. The more he was seeing her , the more he was getting enticed by her!

"Why have you come to a blind date with me then?" Ethan's question was direct towards Katherine, making her completely dumbfounded.

His question not only confused Katherine but also offended her to a small extent. It was not like he had a made a big mistake by asking her about this but the directness and the tone he used, didn't leave any good impression on her.

Realising what he had just blurted out and how much his words were sounding wrong, making him look bad in front of not only her but every single person who would've heard him, he mentally cursed himself.

Katherine's expression was telling him that she had also misunderstood him somehow. If it was another girl, then Ethan wouldn't even have bothered to talk with the person for another minute.

It didn't matter to him what they thought about him or not, so explaining them would simply be a waste of time for him..

However, it was just not any other girl but Katherine who was not only his grandfather's choice but also whom he had grown a liking on..

"Sorry if I sound rude. But what I meant to say was not what you're thinking right now. Seeing you talking about love and romance, I can clearly declare that you're a very much romantic person, who believes in pure love and it's magic over the people. It really amazed me!

But knowing that you're a hopelessly romantic person, I just wanted to ask why you got ready for an arranged marriage. Being an amazing girl that you are, you could've fallen in love first with someone who is worthy of you and then you can have a dream wedding with your lover boy.

Then you could have lived a far better and more beautiful life with your better half under the cover of a blissful love." Ethan explained himself very carefully, trying his best to not upset her.

The frown which was plastered on her face, got replaced with a pleasing smile and she said, "You've summed me up quite well in a short time. But what you aren't able to analyse is that, being a romantic person doesn't meant that she doesn't like the idea of arranged marriage..

As I have just said, love is a beautiful feeling. But it didn't mean that love can't happen in an arranged marriage. I don't know if you'd believe it or not but I have more trust in arranged love than the intended one. And the biggest example is my parents. They had also got married by their family but look at them now.. still fresh in love..

Love is something that happens involuntarily. Even if your marriage is just out of convenience, but just a little effort from both side could lead the couple to a blissful married life. And I don't want to involve myself into a temporary fling, but I dream to enjoy the feelings of love who will be permanent in my life..

And who said you aren't worthy of me! You're one of the most understanding and respective person I've ever met. You're also amazing in your very own way. That's what makes you special. I hope, I am successful in making you understand the concepts of arranged marriage and love.."

Ethan just kept staring at her with astonishment in his eyes. This enchanting beauty in front of him, was not only a beautiful person from outside but also have a wonderful heart too..

She was just phenomenal..!!!

Soon, a smile made it's way on the corner of Ethan's lips as he exclaimed still drowned into incredulity, "You're one of a kind, you know! Not only you are a packet of surprises but also have a remarkable way with your words."

Katherine just laughed at his words and said while giving him a playful wink, "Yeah.. People who know me say so.."

Ethan shook his head at her antics and thought to tease her with her own statement while wiggling his eyebrows at her, "You've mentioned, that I'm absolutely worthy of you. So are you perhaps giving me a hint that you've finally agreed to marry me?"

The smile Katherine had earlier on her face, now turned into a playful smirk as she arched her eyebrows before answering him sassily, "May be, you have succeeded in impressing me.."

Both of their eyes met with each other in an intense eye-lock. There was different kind of emotion wandering around their whole face and they were exactly trying to detect those unsaid feelings..

"So we are really going to marry?" Ethan asked, staring into her eyes.

"Only if you don't reject me.." Katherine's voice was a mere whisper but it held an unknown kind of nervousness.

A throaty chuckle escaped from his lips as he muttered teasingly, "Who am I to deny when the queen is herself ready!"

"Uh huh! I'm still a princess of my Dad. You have to make me your queen yet." Katherine replied as a small smile crept on her lips.

"That I was already prepared for! But this special date with you made my decision more firmer." Ethan's determination stunned Katherine completely.

"You said I've a way with my words. But it seems to be the other way around." She murmured, blinking her eyes gently.

"Maybe it's the effect of you." Ethan's voice was so charming that it made Katherine's stomach churn in excitement.

"I hope I've a good effect on you only." Katherine smiled affectionately at him with hopeful eyes.

"You can only be the best, soon to be wifey." Ethan teased her with a naughty smirk on his face.

It finally broke the intense eye-lock between the couple as Katherine lowered her eyes while a blush crept on her cheeks.

Her red cheeks made Ethan's smirk getting wider as he thought to pull her leg once again, "Are you getting shy now? I've not said anything wrong by the way. You're soon going to get married to me. So there's nothing wrong in me calling you wifey…right?"
