"Those painkillers are a true savior. I would not be able to sleep without them."

"I can imagine." Paul had his fair share of pain. But he did not always have access to medicine. He was sure she had a different experience. 

Regina slowly sat up, her back exposed to him. Paul could see the scars on her skin that were the result of his whipping. Before these scars used to turn him on but now, these marks had started to disgust him with himself, they made him hate himself even more. 

'How are I and Vulture different? We both had caused her pain intentionally. If anything, mine is worse.' Unable to handle the evidence of his inhumane treatment of her, Paul looked into the fire.

"Are you not going to work even today?" She asked with her back facing him.
