章 5: Awakened
"I am Lugh." Adrian stated which confused Dustan.
When Adrian went for his fake interview, he preferred being called by his first name. Sofia, who is kissing the floor like the others, thought that they made a dangerous being. They awakened someone with a split personality.
There have been cases of Deviants with split personalities awakening. The split personality could either be the reason for their death, rise in power, or utter chaos. Some split personality could misuse their abilities and accidentally kill themselves.
"Now tell me, what is your organization called? Where am I?" Adrian asked but the individuals he is asking is still kissing the floor.
He then saw a middle-aged man slowly standing and recovering his footing. The gravitational pull did not change but the man is covered in some sort of power. Upon seeing the power flowing in the man's veins, Adrian's chuckled as he knew what type of power that is.
"Interesting…Someone managed to stand up. I give you my praise and your action deserve a reward." Adrian stated as he stopped the pressure that he was emitting that seemed to affect gravity in some way.
When the gravitational pull returned to normal, everyone slumped down on the floor as they used all their energy to not become human pancakes. Joe did not slump down and walked slowly towards Adrian.
"Are you sure you should be walking? I guess you have been using that flesh prison for too long that you are accustomed to it." Adrian muttered which made Joe stop in his tracks. The others except Sofia did not hear him though as their ears were still ringing.
"Who are you?" Joe asked seriously.
"I already told you. I am Adrian or Lugh. Call me whatever you like but it does not mean I forgive you for turning me into a guinea pig." Adrian stated as his bloodlust rose.
Adrian, who was emitting his bloodlust, is suddenly surrounded by sharp red blades which smelled like blood. The blades are currently beside his neck and are ready to cut him down if he made a mistake. His gaze fell to the one who is generating the blood blades. The crimson haired woman is currently bleeding by her palm.
"Sofia, you need to stand down. He is just angry at us for kidnapping him. If he wanted to kill us, then he would have already." Joe commanded.
"I would have killed all of you if I can." Adrian stated in a condescending tone.
"Liar." Sofia rebuked.
"I am offended. I never lie. Being truthful is one of my best qualities." Adrian stated in a comical way, but he was speaking the truth.
"Sofia, stand down. Do not let him provoke you." Joe stated as he is starting to have an idea who the individual in front of them is.
Sofia did not stand down like Joe ordered and even let the blades get closer to Adrian's neck. The blade just touched Adrian's neck, but he already got a small cut.
"You have great sadness in you. Sadness with immense hatred boiling in the depths of your heart." Adrian stated as his golden eyes now had a tinge of green hue.
Sofia, who heard the words that came out of Adrian's mouth, suddenly dispelled her ability. The blades made of blood became liquid as Sofia was no longer controlling them. Joe realized that Adrian was using his empathic abilities.
They say that empaths are people who can feel what others feel but that is just the most basic definition. Empaths are ability users that can dive in a person's deepest and darkest emotions. The strongest empath could even feel residual emotions from inanimate objects.
Adrian is seeing these emotions like he was in the theater. He is using the emotions of a person in order to channel a link to that person's memories. As long as a memory hold strong feelings then he could read it like a book.
Sofia suddenly hunched like a child as she was also seeing the memories she buried deep in her head. When an empath reads a person's emotion, they form a link. The link is what makes the empath see what the others feel but that also means the other party could see what the empath sees.
"Stop!" Joe stated in a language foreign to any inhabitants of this world. Adrian stopped upon hearing the word that Joe spoke. He then smirked and stopped visiting Sofia's memories.
"Is everyone alright?" Joe asked but he was met with dumbfounded faces.
All of them were almost squished down to the ground and he just needed to ask that question. The others can only shake their heads as Joe was still unable to read the mood in the room. Their hostile gazes all fell upon Adrian as they moved Sofia to the clinic.
"Now that we are the only ones in the room, you will have to explain yourself. Why are you inhabiting the body of a human, Morningstar?" Joe asked in a serious tone as he leaked some of his divinity.
"My dear Joe or should I call you by your real name, Jophiel. For you to have fallen…Heaven must be in disarray. You even inhabited a human body which is taboo. What did you do to get cast out of Heaven?" Adrian stated with a smirk as the being before him was Archangel Jophiel himself.
"I was not cast out like you but sent on a mission." Joe stated with a slight waver in his voice.
"Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel any better. Any angel that falls to the mortal plane is considered fallen regardless of circumstance but that is not what you want to ask." Adrian stated.
"You! Why do you share a body with the Child of Gaia? For you to share a body with a creation of that being, are you not ashamed!?" Joe stated in an angry tone.
"It is a long story, but it is much better if I show you." Adrian stated as he extended his hand for Joe to hold.
