章 9: How to Kill An Ugly Giant

Jin Lin felt like he had been taken from playing pacman and tossed straight into a PUBG match with god level opponents. He hadn't seen this coming and this just happened to be when he was carrying clients. Well, one can say he brought this upon himself when he picked the highest possible difficulty level there is.

The big boss for this dungeon was a half demon half man sort of creature with a tall giant like figure and blood red eyes. It wasn't just a giant but a hairy brawny giant with a of pair long horns on its head and sharp green teeth that made it look like it had spinach for lunch.

This creature was something straight out of hell but the terrifying appearance was in no way comparable to its horrendous strength.

This dungeon boss was equipped with telepathic powers impressive for a level twenty beast. A game character could easily die with one swing of an arm that is if its ugly appearance didn't scare one to death first.

One of these nasty things is bad enough but now they had to deal with two of them. The major issue was how to deal damage to a telepathic creature that wouldn't let you get anywhere near it while protecting their entire team.

Feeling burdened, Jin Lin decided to play it safe by implementing the same strategy he and Fen Hao developed after going through the dungeon dozens of times. Determined to tackle the impossible he lunged at the tallest of the two while yelling, "FenFen, quit babysitting and light up this fucker!"

A slick smile appeared on Fen Hao's face as he led his game character towards the second big boss. He leapt up in the air with his bladerang covered with fierce looking sparks.

While Fen Hao chose a direct assault, Jin Lin chose a different method sliding down to attack the giant's ankles. To reduce the negative impact on his HP from the telepathic attack he used a shield made of flames which would have sufficed if he was killing the big boss with Fen Hao. Because he was alone this time the shield would most likely not last longer.

[Team Chat]

GuppyKing: Ah.... did we just get ditched?

XieXie: Wuwuwu.... I have been abandoned.

XieXie: Does it mean I have to wipe my own ass from now on?

MengLee: Seriously Xie watch your fuckin language.

XieXie: You are the one to talk.

XieXie: You just used the f word.

LordChen: Less chit chat more vigilance.

LordChen: You might never know what's lurking in the dark.

Two minutes later.

[Team Chat]

XieXie: AAAAHHHH!!!

XieXie: LordChen you fuckin cursed us.

XieXie: Are you some kind of psychic.

What this player called XieXie was complaining about was the fact that LordChen told them to keep vigilant and it turned out he was right. Two minutes after he said that a menacing looking burnt creature emerged from the tunnels growling as it crawled over to them.

Its HP bar was incredibly low but because this group of idiots were used to Jin Lin and Fen Hao protecting them like an egg wrapped in bubble wrap they didn't know how to handle it.

[Team Chat]

GuppyKing: Maybe we should call GodLin to take care of it.

As soon as this message was sent the team members looked in Jin Lin's direction. It was at that time they got to witness the god level player of Gods of Equino get tossed into the air like a rag doll.

[Team Chat]

GuppyKing: Well, he is preoccupied.

MengLee: How about Fatty FenFen?

The story was the same only that Fen Hao was in a much worse position than Jin Lin with his HP dropping at a much faster rate regardless of how many buffs he took.

[ Team Chat]

XieXie: Soooooo... are we going to have to take care of this ourselves?

LordChen: I think.... oh shit!

LordChen: This fucker is moving faster!

The team chat immediately grew silent with the group changing from typing to panickingly yelling orders at each other to kill one half-dead minion.

Like a couple of high school girls trying to kill a rat, their game characters ran around swinging their arms in the air while occasionally throwing a weak attack at the creature.

Jin Lin cast his eyes in that direction and couldn't help but smirk while his fingers tapped away on his keyboard. It was this moment of distraction that had his character smacked by a powerful force that drove him straight into the cave wall.

"Shit!" he swore as the big boss's large arm came tumbling down to crush him and deal more damage. Jin Lin rollled his character on the ground dodging the attack. The big boss noticed and it was instantly agitated roaring but it couldn't stop its arm due to inertia. It struck the ground were Jin Lin's character lay before creating a huge dent with debris flying everywhere.

The dust particles got into the giant's eyes temporarily blinding it. Highly annoyed the big boss growled a roar powerful enough to shake the cave walls. Jin Lin was not at all shaken by the disgusting greenish drool coming out of the beast's ugly mouth.

It was then that Jin LIn had an epiphany. It was incredibly difficult to get close to the beast and slice its ankles plus his dragon flame technique was less effective on this boss. It was immune to a whole lot of his skills making it difficult to kill. That's because he had never thought of blinding it instead of using a round about method.

"Fen Fen go for the eyes!" he said while dodging the massive foot that threatened to step on his game character and drop his blood bar.

Fen Hao didn't respond but he understood what he said immediately changing tactic. Jin Lin picked up a rock and melted it in his hand with his green flame while hovering above ground at the frenzied giant's eye level. The big boss was rubbing at its eyes in unsteady footsteps while swinging its other arm frantically.

When it finally managed to open its blurry eyes it saw the lone figure hovering in its line of sight. It was startled at first before its expression turned grimly. It growled showing its ugly teeth but Jin Lin was unfazed saying, "Hello," in a soft tone, "and goodbye."

The goodbye was said before he threw the molten lava from the melted rocks earlier straight into the beasts eyes.

The big boss grimaced in pain taking a few steps backwards. This was undoubtedly the end of this legendary big boss. Jin Lin was ruthless in his attacks leaving no room for the big boss to recover. Not only was its eyes burnt off but it had so many lacerations demonstrating the ancient punishment of death by a thousand cuts.

GuppyKing: Remind me not to offend this big buddha in the future otherwise I would end up like that tenderized chunk of meat.

XieXie: He's a fuckin butcher.
