章 46: Chapter 46

ALESSIA

Last night, Jaxson spent the night. It was not planned, and nothing happened. He carried my downstairs and sat me on the couch while he went into the kitchen and cooked breakfast. While he was in the kitchen, Jessica came out of her room, she noticed me and was shocked that I was downstairs. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Good morning Mommy, I didn't hear my brother come in this morning. If I can remember correctly, I didn't hear him leave last night either." She said looking at me suspiciously. As soon as I say it, I know she is never going to let me hear the end of it.

"He spent the night last night. Nothing happened, we were talking and fell asleep." I replied.

"Well for 2 people just talking, his scent sure is strong on you." She said and I turned away from her. Before I could come up with an explanation or change the subject, Jessica grabbed my chin and pulled my hair back. She gasped and her eyes were wide. I was confused.

"Where the hell did you get that hickey on your neck from?!" she shouted. Oh god. I forgot about that. I closed my eyes. I can feel her staring at me.

"Where do you think she got it from?" Jaxson stated while walking out of the kitchen holding a plate of food. He of course had a smirk on his face causing Jessica to jump up and down in excitement.

"Wait a minute, it's not like that!" I said.

"I kind of got a little jealous and frustrated. I kissed her and for a moment we got carried away." Jaxson said. Well he could have left the last part out. Jessica is still smiling.

Jaxson handed me my plate of food. He made French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. Yeah, I know it is a lot, but these babies require a lot. For me to stay strong, I must be able to get it all down. I eat it slow because I do not want to get sick. I hate the feeling of throwing up. It makes my whole body hurt.

After eating, Jaxson carried me back upstairs. He sat me down on my bench in the bathroom. Walking back in the room to get my clothes. He grabbed a pair of maternity leggings and his tee shirt and placed them on the counter. Closing the door, I undressed and stepped in the shower. It felt so good. This is my favorite thing to do.

Finishing up, I got out and dried off, sitting back on my bench. I put my clothes on, brushed my teeth. I called for Jaxson to come get me. He came and picked me up, putting me on the bed. Jessica came in and did my hair in a French braid.

"I'm going into town today to pick up and drop some stuff off, I want you to come with me. I will carry you to the car. You don't have to get out, Molly said some fresh air will do." Jaxson said. I really do not know if I have the energy to go out, but I have not been in a couple months. Maybe it will be good to get out. Sometimes I feel like the walls are closing in.

Jaxson left to go back to his house. He needed to get showered and dressed. About forty-five minutes later he came back. He came into my room, picked me up and carried me to the car. I sat in the passenger seat and Jaxson put my seat belt on for me. I barely fit. He walked around the car and got in.

Driving down the road, all the leaves have fallen off the trees. It was cold outside, but the sun was shining bright. I have my window cracked, the wind is blowing, and it feels great. When we got into town, there were a lot of people walking the sidewalks, filling the shops and diners.

We pulled up to the post office, Jaxson went inside and brought out a box of packages and mail. Apparently, the pack does not have their mail delivered because we are remote, so someone must pick it all up. After leaving there, we pulled up at the store and the worker loaded up bags of groceries that Jaxson bought online.

We left, having to go to one more store. We pulled up to a baby boutique. I looked at the window displays and got excited. I have not been able to go shopping for the twins at all. Jaxson got out of the car, walked to my side and opened the door. Reaching in, he undid my seatbelt. I was confused because I will not have the energy to walk in and look around. He picked me up and carried me inside. The lady at the door greeted us. Right inside the door was a wheelchair. He placed me in it. He must have planned this.

He pushed me around the store while I got to browse all the little baby things. Everything was so tiny and so cute.  Jaxson's phone started ringing. He told me that it was business and he would be right back. Being in the wheelchair, I did not mind because I could scoot to where I wanted to go. The boutique was not that big.

As I was going through all the little tiny clothes and other things we have yet to get, I looked up and saw Becca and Micah walking in my direction. I do not think they could see me because I was sitting low. Seconds later, I made eye contact with Becca. She was surprised to see me. Her eyes widened before they got small as she glared at me. Her and Micah stopped in front of me. I noticed that they were holding hands while she had a baby strapped to her chest. He pulled his hand away from hers once he saw me looking.

"Well look who it is, I'm surprised to see you out and about. I heard that you were having a difficult and dangerous pregnancy." Becca said.

"I'm fine as you can see. Just a little tired since carrying twins will do that to you." I replied. God, I hate this bitch.

At that moment, Micah excused himself and walked away leaving us alone. Jaxson needs to hurry up because I do not want to be around her. I do not trust her.

"How does it feel to know that both men you wanted chose me before you?" she said. She had an evil smirk on her face. She hit a sore spot because I was struggling with that before she even got involved with Micah again.

"Oh, I'm good. I mean having my mate cater to my every need is a blessing." I replied. It was true, even if Jaxson and I are not together now. He does cater to me.

"That's what happens when you trap him by getting pregnant." She said. I am getting pissed. That is not what happened, and she knows it. I stood up and took a step towards her.

"At least I know who the father of my children is. I don't have to guess, and I certainly am not pinning another man's baby on anyone." I said. Yes, I did just hand it to her, but I am frustrated that I cannot just walk away from her. From my reply, I can tell that I am getting to her. She is getting mad and it's written all over her face. She walked past me and bumped the wheelchair causing it to knock into me. I stumbled forward and tripped. I landed on my hand and knees. She turned around, acting shocked and called for help. Jaxson, Micah and the store attendant came running towards me from all different directions.

Jaxson scooped me up in his arms and rushed me out the door to the car. When he got me seated in the car, he asked me what happened. I told him and he was fuming. We both got in the car and drove away. We were only in the car for about 5 minutes before I started having pains in my stomach.

Trying to take deep breaths to calm myself down. I hand my hand over my stomach, lightly rubbing it trying to ease the discomfort. We have about thirty minutes before getting back to the house. This is not where I want to be right now. I pushed the seat back, needing more room to get comfortable.

Jaxson looked over and noticed my discomfort. You can tell by the look on his face that he was angry and worried. He was trying not to panic."

"What's wrong?" he asked. I was afraid to tell him, but I knew I had to.

"I'm having pain in my stomach. When I fell, I landed on my knees. My stomach never touched the ground. I don't know why it is hurting." I said.

He picked up the phone and called Molly. Apparently being this far away, the mind link does not work. After telling Molly what was going on, he called Jessica to inform her to get everything else situated.

Right as he put the phone down, I had a very sharp contraction. It was long and intense. It took the breath out of me. All I could hope for was that it was Braxton hicks and that I am not going into active labor.

Molly told me that if I went into labor, my blood pressure had to be closely monitored and that I would be receiving an epidural right away to help with the pain. It is going to hurt so much more than when I had Alena, so I needed as much rest to prepare for pushing. If it got too bad, Molly was going to do an emergency c-section but none of that is possible right now because I am not there.

The pain came again. This time is more intense. They were coming regularly and close together. It looks like I am going to be having my babies today. This is real. This is happening. Trying to process it and get through these pains are becoming more difficult. It hurts like hell.

Jaxson gave me his hand to squeeze. I am applying so much pressure that his knuckles are turning white. He is driving fast. I know he is scared just as much as I am. The pains are almost back to back. I feel so much pressure between my legs. Please do not let me have these babies in the car.
