章 14: Chapter Fourteen

Sitting at the table eating the delicious pancakes Connor made as he joins me, sitting across from me on the opposite side of my small table. we don't say anything for a while as we eat our food. the silence was kind of awkward, as I did my best not to randomly make eye contact with him.

" so where is mike?" Connor asks taking a drink of his coffee.

" he's away on business," I say not wanting to further the conversation.

getting up from the table I grab my dishes putting them in the dishwasher. it was strange having him here I didn't want him having the wrong idea. Connor hands me his dishes as I continue loading the dishwasher ignoring him. feeling him staring at me was starting to make me more uncomfortable. what is his problem? I thought to myself.

" can I help clean up?" Connor asks adding a few more dishes in.

" I'm fine, don't you have somewhere else to be?" I ask hoping he'd take the hint and leave.
