"Well Tom... I think we will see a lot more of each other in the near future." Hannah laid the syringe on the table, watching Tom as he recovered from the neurotoxin she injected.
"I hope so, Hannah. I'm a very interesting person."
He stood up with effort as his body flushed out the toxin. Hannah overheard the sounds of bouncers coming their way and within the blink of an eye, she disappeared.
Once the bouncers arrived, Tom had recovered and was leaning on the table.
" Tom! You ok there, man? You look flushed."
One guy noticed the syringe and immediately drew his gun to defend Tom. No sooner had the man drawn his weapon, there was a crack of ice that shot across the room. The bouncers turned in Tom's direction.
"No need for that. I'm perfectly fine. Besides... I am sick of you guys tailing me 24/7. From tomorrow, you'll no longer accompany me anywhere."
Tom strode towards the man with the frozen gun, painfully disarmed him then put him in a chokehold. He glared at the other bouncers, each of them wilting under his state.
"Do we understand each other?", Tom quizzed the men. They didn't dare argue with him while he was holding one of them captive. They relented and backed down. Tom released the man then made his way back to his apartment.
For over 3 years, Tom had been a puppet for someone else. The perfect hitman. He'd never had his own life or free will in all this time. Tonight was the only time he'd been able to sneak away undetected. It made him wonder how those men managed to find him.
As Tom prepared for bed that night, he'd noticed something under his arm. It looked like an injury, but that was impossible given his healing factor. He ran his fingers on the patch and to his surprise, it felt like an electronic chip. A tracker.
"Bastards."
He froze the chip and pulled it from under his skin, painlessly. The wound healed immediately and Tom stomped on the chip.
"You've controlled me for 3 years. It's time I take charge of myself again."
Hmm. So who is Tom, and is he alone in this?
Besides.... Who's controlling him?
