"Don't make a fuss. Let's just quickly wash the dishes and leave them to talk. We can't interfere with the Boss." Mu Qianmo went back to washing the dishes. Both Mizuki Rei and Fu Yangzhu knew that Mu Qianmo was being serious this time so they no longer spoke up and went to do the chores.
Ignoring Fu Yangzhu's bratty complaints, the three of them were able to finish with little to no mishaps.
"Ah. I really wonder how much water sister-in-law has in her space. She allowed us to use it to wash the dishes." Fu Yangzhu said. In a time where there was a water shortage, water being used like this in the apocalypse would be frowned upon. People might even curse them for being so wasteful. Fu Yangzhu could already imagine all the looks of contempt directed towards them.
"Don't ask. Momo has all our stocks and we trust her to make decisions. The girls and I got this far because of her." Mizuki Rei explained.
"Tch. Little Rei, you really trust sister-in-law a lot, huh?"
Mizuki Rei did not answer. After being in a team for almost two months and a half and being privy to her secret, Mizuki Rei has no choice but to trust Lilian Mo. Moreover, he also trusted her since the girl treated Mu Qingqing well. Lilian Mo meant well. It was just that she had suffered from many traumatic experiences which made her into someone a bit eccentric.
Anyway, to Mizuki Rei, Lilian Mo was not a bad person. Likewise, she wasn't a kind person but a person that he could atleast trust. He was already aware that he was surrounded by people with no ordinary backgrounds so being friends with this scary girl was nothing new to him.
Mizuki Rei glanced at his fiancée who was chatting with Lin Jiaojiao. The two girls looked fine and just like them, they did not seem to mind the gore that was surrounding the area.
Having lunch in this kind of graveyard was really dangerous. And being out in the moment for people and mutants to see did not bode well for them especially when their levels were still pretty low.
And yet here they were, being careless. Mizuki Rei sighed. 'This is the power of food...'
Mu Qingqing leaned towards Lin Jiaojiao and whispered. "Jiaojiao, don't tell Reirei and the others but I've actually reached Level three after my injuries healed. It must have been the resins that were fed to me but I suddenly felt an influx of energy in my body and then I found myself breaking through the threshold of the next level."
Lin Jiaojiao gasped in surprise while Mu Qingqing placed her index finger on her lips. Their little secret was a surprise to Lin Jiaojiao who was still without a level.
"Ah... Big Sister Qingqing, you're really great. Even you are close to Big Sister Mo's strength but on the other hand, I'm still this weak. I even caused you to be injured. Big Sister Qingqing, I'm really sorry! It won't happen again! I'll really work hard this time!" Lin Jiaojiao said earnestly. Her guilt had been eating her for days so it was great that she finally managed to voice out a proper apology.
Mu Qingqing patted the girl's shoulder. "Jiaojiao, don't worry. I said that I would look after you. I was only keeping my words. Besides, I talked big and was actually injured in the process. That was my own decision. I'm sure that Jiaojiao who is a kind girl would have also saved me if I were in your situation."
Lin Jiaojiao bobbed her head vigorously. "Big Sister Qingqing, don't worry. I'll be sure to return this favor! I owe you my life. You and Big Sister Mo are both my benefactors. That also includes Big Brother Rei. I won't forget your kindness!"
Mu Qingqing giggled. "Jiaojiao is such a good girl. We girls need to support Momo, okay? Sigh. Momo is very secretive but Jiaojiao, anything that Momo does, I'm sure she has a good reason for it. You know, Jiaojiao...I was almost violated by a group of thugs before but Momo was the one who came and saved me. If not for her, I would have been miserable. Lin Jiaojiao inhaled deeply as Mu Qingqing smiled. The girl seemed very casual as she shared a piece of her past.
"That kind of thing did not happen once. As my family's daughter, a lot of people wanted to see me ruined. It was thanks to Momo that I've remained safe. She always kept an eye on me. Momo, she's really great and kind. I trust her with my whole being. I'm sure that Jiaojiao can relate." Mu Qingqing did not share about her Momo's rebirth.
She was smart enough to keep this a secret and Mu Qingqing was sure that her Momo no longer plans to talk about her past with them.
It was a painful memory for her Momo and Mu Qingqing was aware that the only thing she could do was to always remain happy and cheerful in front of her Momo. It was so that her Momo would forget about the past Mu Qingqing that suffered a tragic past.
'Momo, I'm sure you were heartbroken. Out of the people I know, you were the most kind and most understanding person. Seeing me die while suffering in the apocalypse must have been hard for you. But this time, I won't leave you. I won't make you sad.'
