After they have wrapped up everything, Ma Mian and Yu Qi decided to go to a nearby restaurant. Yu Qi decided to treat Ma Mian as thanks for her help in the drama set. She could not thank her more as Ma Mian saved her from further embarrassment and the possible repercussion caused by her emotional state at that time.
She did not know what had happened and how Ma Mian was able to help her, but just by looking at her face and expression, Yu Qi managed to calm herself and recover from her emotional distress. And from that, she knew that Ma Mian had helped her.
Yu Qi has faced a lot of troubles in her journey as an actress. She has worked hard to memorize her scripts, practice her role, and learned acting. She wanted to be an actress since young and her dream has slowly come to fruition.
But today was the first time that she experienced such pressure from a costar and the strange heavy atmosphere which affected her emotion thoroughly.
While in the cab, she began talking to Ma Mian as if they are already that close. Well, most women are always like that, once they found someone whom they feel that they could confide with, they would be drawn closer to that person.
As the two reached a restaurant that serves delicious hot pot, they immediately enter and had dinner in that place.
The two talked about their career and also their dreams.
Ma Mian discovers that Yu Qi is actually a daughter of a prominent family. But she did not want to rely on her family background so she decided to run to City A which is not too far from the capital city.
She began living by herself and learned to be independent. Her older brother would sometimes visit her, but she would not accept any help from her family in the capital.
Upon hearing this, Ma Mia remembers one of the most prominent clans in the capital, the Yu clan. That clan has their hands on many businesses and military, and she knew of their capability.
Upon hearing the confession of the girl in front of her while she is telling her the past as if it was just a regular story, Ma Mian feels the sincerity of Yu Qi and decided to go along with Yu Qi and become her friend.
As the two are having fun while having dinner. In another table, a group of three men are currently eyeing their table.
"That's the target…" one of them said in a low voice.
"Yes, that woman is Yu Qi. She has a bit of fame… we can't be too excessive we're just here to frighten her."
"Really? I want to play with such a beauty… You can have the ugly one… Hehe…"
"Shut up… Do you want to land in jail? This time it would be for a long time…"
"Che… If the cops can get me, then I might land in jail, but if they couldn't, then… Hehehe…."
As the three whisper their plans, the two women have already finished their dinner. Soon, they walk out of the restaurant. However, before they could walk farther, three men suddenly block their path.
"What is the meaning of this?" Yu Qi said while gripping her bag tightly.
"Hihi… Hey, calm down missy… we're just here to talk… We wanted to meet the both of you…" one of the men said with an evil grin on his face.
"You wanted to meet us? Then why are you blocking our path?" Yu Qi said with an angry glare.
"You guys are just bullies, let us go or we shout…" Yu Qi warned as she blocks Ma Mian behind her.
She was worried that Ma Mian would feel afraid as she thinks that the woman is frail and could not handle such bullies.
"Shout? Scream? Hihi… you can try…" one of the men said as he suddenly pulls out a sharp knife from his pocket.
Seeing this, the expression of Yu Qi suddenly turned pale.
Meanwhile, Ma Mian has already looked at her surroundings and found that there are no cameras in this area. So she decided to turn on her phone camera and record everything that is happening.
She wanted to be sure that she would not be facing some repercussion if she begins taking action at this point in time.
These men around them are showing some sort of tendency to sexually assault Yu Qi, as Ma Mian could clearly see it in their eyes.
With Yu Qi's beauty, the three of them are already attracted to her.
Ma Mian just heaves a deep and helpless sigh at this scenario which made her wanted to run away. However, from what this scene looks like, it seems like a random event that is happening in this restaurant.
However, she noticed some suspicious things. For one, she did not see the security personnel of the restaurant which she had seen when they enter. The second thing is that these men seem to have been looking at them when they enter this restaurant.
In fact, at the back of her mind, she recalled these three entering the restaurant while taking glances at them as if they are observing their every move.
From this observation alone, Ma Mian has concluded that this might be a trap set up by someone holding a grudge against either her or Yu Qi.
If it's her, then that should be impossible except if they realized that she is Ma Liling, so the highest possibility is Yu Qi. But who has a great enmity towards her that they would hire some goons just to do these things towards her?
Sexual assault is not a simple crime. Plus these men have already shown a knife to threaten them.
While trying to analyze the situation, one of the men suddenly noticed Ma Liling's phone, and in anger, he extended his hand to grab it.
"How dare you ugly bitch!" he shouted.
His action and shout alerted the two and also noticed the phone in Ma Mian's hand. They immediately acted and thoroughly encircled the two women.
Their plan is to get the phone, capture them, and do their dirty deed in the dark alley behind the restaurant.
With that plan in mind, a sinister smile is already plastered on those three men's faces.
