Ma Mian suddenly found herself having a conversation with the woman named 'Feng'. She was one of the makeup artists in one of the extras in this drama film. Feng saw Ma Mian at that Jiaolong Corporation when she freelancing. She was astounded at her low-key attitude besides the fact that she is a very talented makeup artist.
As the two talk, they did not notice that some of the makeup artists in the set who does not have anything else to do seem to have been captivated by their conversation.
Soon a group is already having a discussion on their subject of interest, makeup.
Ma Mian would be asked some questions and others would share their opinions. With her sharp mind and an exceptional memory, Ma Mian picks up a lot of tricks that she could add to her already amazing ability.
She knew that being around these artists would sure make her grow further.
Soon the conversation of the group was interrupted by a loud shout from the set.
"Cut! Cut! What is happening here? Miss Yu Qi… this is the 8th time that we have repeated this. Get your mind in the scene!" the director shouted as a hint of anger could be heard in his tone.
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry…" Yu Qi just bowed her head and an apologetic look in her expression could be noticed.
Meanwhile, the actress in front of her, Tang Arjin has an expressionless face. Her reaction and demeanor further made Yu Qi felt terrible.
She did not know what is happening, but whenever she is in front of Tang Arjin her emotion would be in turmoil. She seems to forget her script of the needed emotion to portray her role.
It's like her mind would turn to blank especially when she looks into Tang Arjin's black eyes. She seems to feel like her whole being is sucked inside a dark vortex which would render her speechless.
Seeing that everything is not fine, the director wanted to say something when he noticed Tang Arjin standing up and walking towards him.
When she was beside the director, she whispered.
"I don't like my role. Change it or you will not get to finish this drama…" Tang Arjin warned with a sneer.
After she walks away, the director was silent as he pinches his temples as he knew that he is facing a headache, and that headache is from that haughty actress Tang Arjin, the drama queen.
Without a choice, he takes out his phone and called someone while waving his hand for everyone to take a break.
As Yu Qi walks back to her makeup table, Ma Mian also walks near her to check her makeup. When she saw that everything is fine, she just patted Yu Qi's shoulders while standing behind her.
The drama 'Breeze of Endearment' is about a young woman who was left by her husband whom she shared a life with, and became suicidal. When she was at the end of her wits and jump from a bridge, she was rescued by someone. She became comatose and her soul transfer to a shy young lady of a noble family in the era of the dynasties. From there she began to learn about how to truly live her life and be loved.
She also learned about her true purpose in coming to the time era.
Yu Qi has taken the role of the female lead best friend in the future and in the past, while Tang Arjin is the main character's rival in love in both times.
Ma Mian looks at Yu Qi and tries to determine what is wrong with her.
"You seem to be unable to focus." She said after she finished analyzing the status of Yu Qi.
"How… how did you know?" Yu Qi asked with disbelief in her eyes.
"Well, your expression is telling me… Let's practice your script since we don't have anything to do." Ma Mian suggested.
Feeling that Ma Mian is right, Yu Qi agreed, and the two walks to the corner and began rehearsing. When Yu Qi accidentally looks at Ma Mian's eyes, her heart seems to feel something warm as the flow of information inside her mind became clear.
As the script continues to flow clearly and her acting feels natural, Yu Qi thanked Ma Mian for her help.
The director at this time walks toward Tang Arjin, and the two began to discuss. After a while, Tang Arjin angrily stumps her foot as she walks towards her spot in the set. She could not believe that she would be threatened by the director and those people behind him.
She truly did not want the role as she thinks it is a bit awkward and she is having a hard time getting into her role.
Seeing the director already walking and everyone calling for the set to be ready, Yu Qi also went to her spot. As she walks beside Tang Arjin, she could feel a cold aura that seems to seep under her skin making her feel afraid.
"Humph! Let's see if this can be filmed correctly… You… you should act properly…" Tang Arjin said as she glared at Yu Qi.
Upon meeting Tang Arjin's eyes, the heart of Yu Qi skipped a beat. Plus she could feel her mind suddenly began to be uneasy and her concentration a bit chaotic.
Her emotion seems to be all over the place and this made her feel her confidence going down once again.
The director calls for the set to be ready.
"Lights, camera, and action!"
Tang Arjin went into her role and immediately showed a confident look of a noblewoman. Meanwhile, on the side, Yu Qi is still in the motion of gasping her role and her expression is not right.
When Ma Mian saw this, she knew that Yu Qi is in trouble.
One of the hardest things an actor or an actress could do is to get into her or his role on the set. Most veterans can do this easily. However, those who are new and are not yet used to pressure would usually commit many errors.
And right now, Ma Mian knew that a giant pressure coming from Tang Arjin is slowly crushing Yu Qi's confidence. And if this is not broken, or if Tang Arjin did not stop putting this pressure, then Yu Qi would not be able to overcome such mental stress.
Ma Mian could already see slight traces of sweat forming on Yu Qi's forehead and knew that her conjecture was correct.
