Wen Ran suppressed the tears welling up in her eyes, her lips tightly pursed as she looked up at Mo Xiuchen, gazing into his deep eyes filled with distress and threads of tenderness.
A smile appeared on her lips, but it was a smile that seeped with a heartbreaking sadness, "Mo Xiuchen, since you now know why I've been avoiding you, please don't force me, okay? I don't know if there will come a day when I don't care about the vows I made, and get back together with you."
"But I can't do that now."
"I understand, I won't force you."
Mo Xiuchen reached out to grasp her soft hand. This gesture felt so familiar and natural to him, his grip firm yet gentle, one that Wen Ran could not pull away from.
"Ranran, as long as you don't avoid me in the future, I won't force you," he said.
"I won't avoid you."
Wen Ran responded softly, not willing to avoid him, not just because she wanted to see him, but also because she didn't want to see the look of loss in his eyes.
