When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the body of Ellendise Ariadne Mielle Vitron, the only daughter of Count Davis Vitron from the novel, "Robin The Songbird".
This ridiculously long name became my identity the moment I opened my eyes at the age of three.
I became aware of a past life in a different world where magic did not exist and where science and technology ruled the world.
The idea of reincarnation after death did not immediately registered in my head and it was only when I was three years old did I remember, the bitter memories of a lonely past life.
Rianne Luxtred was a 28-year old undecided woman that studied many things. From cooking to painting, business then medicine. Rianne Luxtred studied a lot and learned a lot so she could earn the love of the woman who gave birth to her.
She devoted herself to becoming the perfect daughter who was perfect at everything. Mistake was a consequence that she couldn't afford because it was proof that she was incompetent and unworthy.
Rianne Luxtred was a pitiful woman who strived in life and struggled just so she could be recognized by one person.
However, no matter how hard she worked and struggled, she became nothing but a distant memory to that woman who was supposed to be her mother.
She died alone while surrounded with strangers that had no connection or relationship towards her.
All the prestige, the achievements, the countless certificates and trophies... They were all wasted on the wrong person.
Even in her last moments, Rianne Luxtred waited for that woman to look back. Even in death, she waited until she was acknowledged.
But Rianne Luxtred gained nothing.
She died as someone who was forgotten by the woman who she once called her mother.
It was a truly pitiful ending for the daughter who was loved by many but was ignored by the only woman she had ever loved.
Now that Rianne Luxtred was no more, I would have to live in the body of Count Vitron's only daughter.
In the novel, "Robin The Songbird", Ellendise was a female supporting character who was a villainous woman due to her wealthy upbringing. The female lead, Letia Rhaine, was her cousin and was the daughter of Baron Martin Rhaine.
Like Ellendise, Letia was Baron Rhaine's only daughter. Letia was a gentle and kind girl who was easily outgoing. Many fell for her charismatic nature including the crown prince and many other powerful men of the Harchen Empire.
Ellendise was the total opposite of Letia. She was raised in a strict household and was a cold and calculating woman who guarded herself against everyone including her family.
She was also famous in high society for being a wild woman who disregarded etiquette and customs. Ellendise was a very calculating person that did not extend connections to those that were useless to her.
Unlike Letia who did not care about a person's status and usefulness, Ellendise viewed the world in a different light.
During their days at the magic academy, Ellendise and Letia met the crown prince at the opening ceremony.
Letia fell in love at first sight while Ellendise who did not understand love and pursued power, only wanted the crown prince so she could raise her status.
Ellendise and Letia's relationship became strained as they fought for one man. This continued until they graduated and the fight for the throne began.
Due to Letia's kind and gentle temperament, the crown prince fell for her. She was also supported by other supporting female and male characters and was able to gain a steady backing.
Of course, this wasn't all because of her pure personality. This was also because she was someone capable of light magic.
Among the six types of magic; fire, water, air, earth, light and dark, only light and dark magicians were rare and hard to come by.
Letia's case was especially rare because her light magic allows her to heal people and get rid of curses. She helped a lot of people using her magic and was able to gain numerous favor.
Ellendise was different. She was someone who was even more special than Letia. She was a genius who was able to control magic as though it was second nature to her.
However, in the novel, Ellendise was traumatized from using magic at the age of five. The Count's wife, Ellendise's mother sacrificed herself to save Ellendise from a monster attack at the temple.
Despite being a so called genius, Ellendise was unable to use her magic to protect her mother. It was only halfway through the novel that the fact that Ellendise was unable to use magic was revealed and it was due to the presence of a mana disturbance tool.
The five-year-old Ellendise watched her mother get eaten by a monster without being able to use magic. It became a deep wound in Ellendise's heart that prevented her from fully controlling her magic.
In the end, Ellendise grew up using dirty tricks instead of relying on her own magic. The Count blamed her for his wife's death and Ellendise's brother became indifferent to her.
A pitiful count's daughter who was supposed to be a genius magician was unable to use her magic to save her mother. Nevermind the fact that she was only five, high society was cruel and Ellendise was still criticize for failing to meet their expectations.
This became Ellendise's dark past that turned her into a cold and calculating woman who only wanted power. This was due to the fact that her helplessness and being weak took her mother's life.
Ellendise swore to become the empire's most powerful woman in order to forget the memories of her dark past. She repeatedly got in Letia's way so she could marry the crown prince.
But in the end, the villainess received a lonely ending. It was all thanks to the crown prince who fell in love with Letia and thwarted all of Ellendise's schemes.
Years of hardships were wasted and the kind Letia who took pity at Ellendise corrected her behavior. This allowed Ellendise at a chance for redemption but she was stripped of her title and was made to live the life of a helper at the temple.
The villainess Ellendise eventually found enlightenment and chose a different path for herself. It was said that she soon left the empire and traveled around the world to search for her own happiness.
Letia and the crown prince got married. They became the Emperor and the Empress who ruled over the Harchen Empire and led their citizens to many glorious days.
The novel, "Robin The Songbird" wasn't your typical romance story where the villainess received a cruel ending. In fact, the fact that Ellendise was able to find redemption and travel the world to look for her own path was one of the things that made the story unique.
Ellendise did not die nor was she executed like the typical villainess. She turned over a new leaf and was able to realize her wrongdoings thanks to Letia. It was a very fortunate turn of events.
Everyone got their happy endings and few characters died, either due to sickness or accident. There were rarely any casualties mentioned in the book. The characters were either on the brink of death or injured but they were saved in the end.
It was truly a very a happy story.
And so, I have decided.
As the current Ellendise Ariadne Mielle Vitron, I will no longer have anything to do with the woman named Rianne Luxtred.
And because I am now Ellendise, I will move forward and live my life for myself and for my own happiness.
The novel, "Robin The Songbird" will ceased to exist because I will no longer play the role of a pitiful woman who was insecure due to her own weakness.
Letia can have the crown prince or any man in the empire while I will live my own life, away from the lonely script that was given to the villainess Ellendise.
To my surprise, the fluffy romance novel, "Robin the Songbird" which never mentioned any cruel scenarios and gruesome deaths didn't seem as accurate as the novel foretold.
Because this world of magic turned out to be much darker than expected.
