章 123: The stolen manual

Xiao Jingyi calmly nodded his head as he confirmed that Fu Jie was right in guessing Xiao Jingyi's thoughts, "The mayor probably stole the manual from the demon, but Mo Shaoqing is not that simple and there is no way he would be fooled that easily." 

"I get it!" Fu Jie exclaimed as he added, "If I was the demon and I already knew that the mayor was going to try and steal the manual from me then I would've hidden the manual and kept it safe, however, it would only be a matter of time before the mayor finds it again. Hiding the manual would be nothing more than a temporary solution and it would also indirectly show the mayor that the demon did not trust him." 

"To put it simply, it would be a bad idea to hide the manual." 

Fu Jie bobbed his head up and down, "Then he would try another way to make sure that tricking him and stealing the manual has nothing good come out of it for the mayor."
