章 53: Foreboding Nightmare

The next day, I arrived at school just in time before the bells rang. I was literally cutting corners and barely made it to homeroom as I sunk in the seat next to Orion.

He had a confused expression on his face as I was often early— earlier than him especially— due to my conditioning to working long hours with short sleeping hours while at work. It definitely did take its toll on my body, but once the deadline is met, we have a honeymoon period of laxity in the office before doing it all over again.

Judging by the expression on Orion's face however, he may think it had something to do with him that I was now arriving late after we had a talk the previous few days regarding my avoiding him. But that wasn't the case at all, I just couldn't sleep as I kept wondering why Cain decided to distance himself from Darien when he could apologize properly for his behaviour instead of doing so in a roundabout way.
