The sun was shining in the distance rising showing its radiance to the world and giving a glow to our little Scáthach's stunning purple hair and adding a light glow to her already Ruby red eyes.
After hearing Scáthach's Words to their prisoner a new primal glint appeared in their eyes that screamed 'behave or die'. hearing this Qrow nervously laughed sensing the ill intent towards him from the other clansmen towards him.
Releasing a cold sweat Qrow replied hastily "no no no we were just playing around kiddo don't worry about it adults love to play don't you like to play."
Scáthach looked at him with a confused look whilst tilting her adorable little head "but didn't you say your taking me away with you from mommy Raven?" Inside her cute head a cackling evil demon could be heard laughing 'how will you escape this one you drunken fool haha'
Another volley of glares shot his way whilst Scáthach seemingly unaware of the predicament she had 'unknowingly' caused for him asked. "So who are you old man"
Hearing this Qrow showed a hurt expression whilst the rest of the camp burst out in a glorious fit of laughter. Suddenly just like the sun was rising in the distance Raven emerged from her tent. Seeing the situation before her she could only let a slight smile show. "Scáthach how about you go talk to uncle Thomas about his younger days" Scáthach pouted hearing this but obeyed her mother nonetheless running off to a distant tent at the other side of the camp.
Raven seeing she was far enough to be out of ear shot turned to Qrow. "So now that you've calmed down and sobered up mind telling me why you want MY child to go with you 'dear' brother?"
Hearing his sisters tone of voice he knew not answering her question was putting his head on the executioners chopping block. He sighed before answering "she needs a normal childhood. Not one surrounded by these criminals murderers or worse.... she needs a real family, children her own age to play with things a normal child would do."
Raven snorted at him "first of all let me explain a few things to you 'little' brother the people here treat her as family as you probably have noticed considering the amount of non verbal death threats you received earlier. Even the worst of us here dote on her like family to the point I wondered if it was her semblance that made her so lovable."
She puffed up her chest in pride before continuing "second of all I tried a couple times introducing her to normal things like dolls, other children etc. However when I did she outright refused either saying 'they aren't part of the tribe so who cares' or 'they are weak and the strong kill the weak. Just the mentality any good warrior should have"
Whilst Qrow was having an internal crisis of catastrophic proportions. 'The first part is amazing considering the type of people here and by the looks I got earlier when they looked at Scáthach they really did show familial love. However the second part is a mentality a child should never have to have especially at the tender age of four.....'
Raven as if guessing his thoughts said "I'm well aware her mentality isn't what many people or you would consider normal for a child her age that's why I have a proposal a bet if you will."
Hearing this Qrow's face easily perks up at the thought. Raven responded "at the age of six you can take her too yours or Taiyangs family for two years. If she decides to stick to your 'straight and narrow' she can stay with you if she wants however.... if after those two years she decides to return to me then you will return her to the tribe no trying to stop her."
She sighed irritably "because knowing your blind loyalty you'll tell the lying bastard about her. And after receiving his support for your ever so noble endeavour you'll keep trying to get her persistently so brother....."
She kicked open the door of the cage that was holding him in. Slowly she stuck out her hand in a helpful gesture "do you accept this deal my shite for brains brother"
Getting up he took her hand and murmured in an almost inaudible voice. "Fine we'll play things your way I'll see you in two years and also Yang is doing well here you go" he said handing her a photo before flying becoming a crow and flying off into the distance. 'At least he's gone for now and if I'm lucky I won't have to deal with a certain annoying wizard breathing down my neck at every turn spewing how my child needs to be sacrificed in his petty lovers quarrel with the witch for the 'greater good' of remnant he can piss right off with that self righteous bull crap and shove it where the sun don't shine if he thinks he can use my little girl'
Raven quickly took the photo out of curiosity looking at the photo he saw two little girls hugging each other. One an adorable little girl with black hair that had faint red highlights at the tips of her hair stuffing her face with cookies. Hugging the little chibi from behind was a slightly larger chibi with long golden locks and adorable amethyst eyes full of Happiness and childish innocence.
Seeing this her face remained stoic whilst she resolved herself 'my dear Yang if you ever decide to join us me and your sister will embrace you with open arms till then enjoy what me and Scáthach won't ever have due to our nature as warriors... a innocent childhood.'
Standing up Ravens vaguely sad eyes shifted to their usual sharp and dangerous ones. It's time to train her daughter again.
...
In the woods
Raven looked down at her child from the perch of a tree whilst her daughter stared up at her. "Today since you've unlocked your semblance well be talking about semblances"
Hearing this Scáthach stared up at her with eyes that radiated genuine thirst for knowledge. "Semblances are mystical and mysterious abilities all people with aura have. Some semblances drain your aura whilst other need certain conditions to be full filled to be used."
She hopped down from her perch whilst pacing backwards and forwards. "One such example would be my semblance I can teleport to people I've marked however I can't to those I haven't marked one of those people I've marked is you of course so your awesome mother can save you when your in trouble!" Gloated Raven in an almost obnoxiously smug and proud tone.
She coughed slightly getting back on topic. "From what I've seen yours allows you to enhance your spear with aura giving it strange and powerful properties with the more aura you channel into it the stronger affects it having. For example during the fight when you channeled more aura into your attack dealing more damage than when you attacked the old fool because at the time you were low on aura."
Hearing all this Scáthach absorbed it all like a human knowledge sponge. Continued to listen to her mother with a sharp glint in her eyes. "However semblances need to be experimented with to see their limits one example of this in your case would be: can you channel your aura into other weapons or can they only be channelled into weapons would it work an things like pebbles these are all things we will experiment with today to test your limits."
What ensued after this speech was a day of experimenting she tried using her aura on many weapons such as a dagger, a sword hell even a sharpened stick with no affects except for the last one.
Raven wondered "perhaps it's related to spears or just pole arms in general wait a second" she said before heading off to retrieve something what she brought back was a large red spear with strange yet all to familiar patterns on them it was identical to the name of her semblance GAE BULG.
The second Scáthach picked it up she felt a deep almost spiritual bond with the spear itself as if it was a loyal partner who'd followed her through countless battles. She released a contented smile. Raven seeing this could only sigh.
"That weapon there was the spear of the founder of the Branwen tribe it's said his semblance was related to spears and that even a simple slash from his spear could cause cracks in the earth itself and this spear accompanied him through battles that can be counted in millions. His name was Satanta Branwen more commonly known as Branwen's child of light. And by the looks of things it will also follow you through many fights my little runt." She said before kissing Scáthach on the head and giving her hair a good ruffle.
"Training's over for today now go and mess around little runt." Hearing this Scáthach ran off into the distance to do gods know what.
Raven merely stood back seeing her daughter run off into the distance with a radiant smile on her face. 'It's times like these that make life worth living' she thought to herself before her smile morphed into a slight frown. 'If she's going to become a good leader she needs to learn how to kill if I remember there's a raid soon.... let's see what happens then and if their are any scum there it'll make her first kill much much easier.'
