章 13: Cygnus Black
For the last few years, Cygnus Black had fallen to an incurable illness, what made it even worse was that he was only forty-seven even though he looked older with his sunken eyes long face and gray hair.
Now he had to stay in bed all day and do nothing. Luckily he still had his loyal house-elf, Tilly, he wasn't like most Blacks who verbally and fiscally abused their house-elves. No, he treated them kindly making them wear clean towels tied into tags.
Now that he stayed in his bed all day Tilly was one of his only outlets for entertainment he usually tried to teach her chess but the finer detail were lost on her, some times he'd have her apparate him into the back garden and then just lie there enjoying the sun.
But today was different he was as always in his room reading a book about ancient literature when suddenly he heard a loud knocking at the front door. He assumed it was Walburga but just to make sure he used the wards to sense them. WHat he felt shocked him there were two people at the door being received by Tilly. One of the two people's magic was slightly above average for an adult. While the other almost made him have a heart attack. Their magic power was huge but there was something strange about it, the person's magic reminded him of the Chinese Yin and Yang. The stranger's magic was two opposites fighting and intertwining always growing stronger.
The more he looked the more fascinated he became with the person's magic, Cygnus then saw how Tilly brought them inside. That made him frown, why would Tilly let in two total strangers. For several minutes he thought about the possible identity of the strangers but he stopped when he heard a knock at the door. "Master, there are two people here who would like to meet you."
He sighed and said "come in"
As the double doors swung open he saw Tilly and behind her were two people. A woman in her early twenties, she was horribly dressed in ragged clothing but her face was perfectly clean and a girl between six and seven. Luckily the girl was dressed quite well and not like the woman with her.
"You'll have to excuse my rudeness, I have to stay in bed, but please take a seat." Cygnus motioned at three armchairs to his right while he said that.
Noticing the girl didn't speak the woman behind her spoke "We thank you, Lord Black".
As they made themselves comfortable Cygnus decided to inspect the girl she had long flowing red hair the color of blood, a pale face as white as chalk, and a pair of mismatched crystallized eyes her right one was blue while the left one was red.
"Miss, would you like some tee?" Tilly asked the young girl.
A small smile spread across her lips "Yes please." she said in an angelic voice.
Her voice instantly calmed Cygnus down, he was feeling quite tense and who wouldn't be two unknown people appear at your residence which, by the way, is under the Fidelius charm.
Taking a sip of Tee Cygnus began "So, Tilly told me you wanted to speak with me?"
"Yes, I'll introduce us first this is Victoria Sharp, and I'm Eleanor Black pleasure to meet you."
Cygnus's eyes narrowed "Prove it." he said sharply
Eleanor cocked her head which made her look like a puppet "Prove what?"
"Don't play dumb with me girl," he growled out.
"I would never, but I think I know what you mean." she raized her hand so the palm would be facing her.
Cygnus looked at it and inhaled sharply there on the girl's middle finger was the Black heir ring.
"May I?" he asked stretching out his hand.
Eleanor shrugged she took the ring off and placed it in his hand.
Bringing it close to his eye he hummed in approval "Yes, yes" he mumbled to himself.
Scratching his chin which had a bit of stubble on it.
"Here," he handed it back over.
"Well then, now that I have confirmed that you are indeed a Black. I welcome you wholeheartedly to Castle Black," he said joyously.
The corners of Eleanors lips tugged up at that "I thank you, Lord Black, for your kind word."
He to smiled "Now, miss Black could you please tell me who your parents are and how you managed to receive that ring?"
Eleanor's face turned serious and her eyes went cold "Tell me Lord Black why should I hand over that knowledge to you?"
Cygnus razed his voice and said in a commanding voice "Because I am your Lord."
Eleanor could feel the anger starting to boil inside of her but she kept it suppressed "Fine, but I would prefer if this information is not spread outside these walls."
Cygnus razed his eyebrows at her request "Of course, Tilly could you please bring us some cakes."
"Yes master," she said before scurrying out of the bedroom.
As soon as the door closed Cygnus turned back to Eleanor only to see her with her eyes closed drinking some tea.
"Placing down her cup she opened her eyes and spoke, "Before I tell you I must ask, how much do you know about King Arthur?"
Scratching his chin again he stared of into open space trying to recall everything.
"I know that King Arthur had a half-sister who was a Black I also know the common knowledge like him being a Gryffindor, but that would pretty much be it."
Eleanor nodded and sipped some tea "Then how many children did he have?"
Cygnus's eyebrows furrowed "One, his name was Mordred. Wait now I recall he had two the other one disappeared without a trace after his death."
The young Princess smiled at that "At least I don't have to explain everything to you." she then stood up and curtsied again and said "I think it better if I introduce myself again. I am princess Eleanor Pendragon true queen of Great Britain."
Cygnus didn't react, he just stared at her. So thinking he didn't believe her she stretched out her right hand where two rings were residing.
Looking down he saw the rings just blinked and reached out to his right.
Where he grabbed a long rope and pulled it making a bell ring.
A loud pop echoed around the room as Tilly appeared at the door.
"What can Tilly do for you master."
"Tilly take Eleanor here to Bellas's old room and take the young lady to our guest room."
"Of course," she said before grabbing Eleanor and Victoria and apparating away.
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter was a quite stressful weekend and had little time to write.
