章 253: Products of Dying

Serenica knew she was no match to the ferryman.

She could not negotiate a better deal. She could not beg, bargain or battle her way out of this situation.

She waded into the water, feeling the darkness close in around her.

She looked towards the shore.

The psychopomp waved to her with dissonant cheeriness.

She walked further into the waves until she was neck deep.

She dived in, and she felt herself taken from whatever spiritual body she had inhabited during the walk through the twilight land.

This was it, the snake had killed her.

She saw nothing but darkness, and then, not even darkness.

She had no thoughts, no feelings. She was no more.

The vast nothingness that filled every part of the world she had existed in crept into every memory of every thought she had ever had in her head. Not existing – it did not feel much like anything.

Something that was eerily similar to her realized something.
