It was a sunny day in Gwangju High school and the graduating class were busy preparing for their upcoming graduation day for these past few days. A young Gaia scrolls on to her phone while she scan the old photos of them together. She reminisces the days when they played together in the arcade, read books together, climbed trees, and do things that other kids do. They were inseparable since they were young.

As she moves from one photo to another, a tear suddenly fell from her eyes as she counts the last few days with her best friend before he flies to abroad to study music at the Royal Academy of Music in England. She supported him in his passion for a long time but she never understood why he didn't see her as part of his future, even just a friend or a lover. It was an undying question since the day he told her he will depart abroad after they finish high school.

Standing at five-foot-nine with pale white skin, Yohan Min is a child prodigy. He wanted to be a musician because of his upbringing. His mother used to be a concert pianist before she became a housewife. His father, a well-known composer and conductor, was his mentor. His older brother is a music producer and a Music professor at Korea National University of the Arts. Meanwhile, Yohan is special. He can compose and play a variety of instruments.

Yohan was used to be bullied when he younger for his skin color. Kids would call him a "living ghost" and would be picked on by the kids in their school. They will hit him and he will get bruises to check if he is alive. They would throw paint at during their art classes so he can be "visible" to them. He felt alone because of the treatment he gets from others.

Gaia became his heroine one time when kids threw mud at him to make him apparent. Gaia always witnessed Yohan being abused and she had enough. She stood up for him and acted bravely in front of him. As a consequence, the kids threw the mud at Gaia instead. Yohan was amazed at her courageousness. They became friends from that day onwards

There was never a day that Yohan played music in front of Gaia to thank her for that day. She taught him to trust trustworthy people. Yohan promised Gaia that he will play music for her to see her smile. He kept that promise.

Tchaikovsky's "Romance in F Minor" is one of Gaia's favorite. Yohan plays it for her every Valentine's day. Gaia became infatuated with Yohan as she watches him cast a spell upon her as his hands move from one key to another. Now, those will be a memory as she is counts the last few days before he leaves.

"Hey, Gaia!" Yohan called her as he ran towards her.

She immediately wiped her tears with her hands and put her phone back inside the locker. Her heart tremors as she hears Yohan's breathing behind her after dashing to her. Gaia gulped to swallow her emotions for a moment. She turned around and Yohan is already standing there with a big smile on his face.

"Gaia, can you come with me to the music festival this Saturday?" Yohan asked excitedly as he waved the tickets to the event.

Gaia saw the tickets in his hand. Different thoughts came running into her mind. She planned on acknowledging her feelings towards him before he goes. She just needed the right time and at the right moment. Yohan noticed that she was silent and hesitant to answer his request.

"Come on, Gaia! This is the last time that we can be together before we graduate," he added.

Her heart beats like a deafening drum. Her body temperature rose. She knew that this is the last chance that she can see him before they go on their separate ways and thought of taking this as an opportunity. She realized that this is her only chance. It will be death to her if she misses this opportunity.

She compiled her courage and looked up to him. She still hears her heart pounding through her ears as she looks into his eyes.

"Sure," she replied as she smiles, showing her rosy cheeks.

Yohan's eyes widened when he heard Gaia's response. He jumped for joy that his best friend agreed to come along. He hugged her tightly that Gaia's lungs were almost crushed.

When he finally released Gaia, Yohan giggles out of excitement. This brought a smile to her face that she can't get enough of looking at. Seeing his beautiful and sweet gummy smile is already enough for her to lighten up her day.

"Let's meet at Sajik Park at 4 P.M. then we can go to the festival," Yohan said. "Let's make that day last, Gaia."

Gaia forces her to stop her tears from falling. She doesn't want to ruin his mood. He talks about their plans this weekend and where they should go and what to do before graduation. It was difficult for Gaia to accept the fact that he will be leaving South Korea to study abroad. Without second thoughts, Gaia opened her arms and leaned towards Yohan. She hugged him as she buries her face onto his chest.

He was surprised at Gaia but seeing his five-foot-five best friend upset also hurts Yohan. It hurts leaving the person who protected him since they were in middle school. He wrapped his arms around Gaia and whispered...

"I'll make sure that I'll see you before I go, Gaia. I promise that I will come back to South Korea so that we can be together again. I'll do my best to keep in touch. Please don't forget me. You're my only best friend that I want to keep forever."

Gaia began to sob. She no longer cares what the other students think of them. Hearing those words brings her to the reality that he will not be with her for a few years. It may be painful but she will keep that promise until he returns.

"I'll wait for you, Yohan," Gaia said.
