"Sabrina is that you?" Sabrina immediately jumps back, pushing David in turn. He jerks back with a dumbfounded expression.
"Mother!" Sabrina breathes and turns to look at her.
"Mother?" David asks confusedly, looking at her and suddenly turning away he finds an old lady looking at them both with yet another amazed expression. "Mother!" He blurts out.
"Mother, you came home early today..." Sabrina tries to laugh out the situation that her mother caught her into.
"Yeah but what are you doing here and who's this guy?" But seems like her mother won't let things slide this easily.
"She is your mother?" David whispers and she nods in answer.
"I think I have seen you somewhere before..." Her mother says while observing David.
"She is your mother!?" David shouts to no one in particular and then realized he had said it out loud when both daughter and mother look at him. "I mean... Wow, she is your mother." He says, walking towards her mother when Sabrina grabs his hand and stops him.
"Go home now!" Sabrina whisper hisses, glaring at him. He shakes his head and clearing his throat he moves towards her mother while Sabrina gives him a don't-be-stupid look but he does it anyway. He stands in front of her mother and her mother gasps looking at him.
"Oh my! I remember now, you are-"
"Mrs. Jackson?" David says before she could. Sabrina's mother, Doris hesitantly nods looking at David and he takes her hands in his.
From the distance, Sabrina was unable to identify their exchange of looks as it was also dark. She was confused that how her mother knew him and vice versa.
"It's so good to see you again Mrs. Jackson." David hugs her mother while she stiffens. She hesitantly pats his back and then he backs away. David turns to Sabrina "Remember when I told you I worked somewhere before?" Without waiting for her response he continues "I worked at the same store where your mother works. She helped me a lot there, right Mrs. Jackson?" Her mother weakly nods like she was amazed and too scared to speak anything.
"Oh?" Sabrina managed to say "Maa..." She walks towards her mother "I am really sorry. Don't be mad I wasn't doing-"
"It's okay Sabrina. Go home, I'll come in a while" Doris tells her.
"Is it really okay?" She asks hesitantly.
"Go home. I want to talk to David, after all, we met after so long." Sabrina looks at David and he lowers his head down, not looking into her eyes. Sabrina turns her face before nodding at her mother's words and walks away, leaving them both for their long-time-no-see talk but she wasn't exactly sure if it was the only case.
