The deities had returned less distressed than they were earlier. Since Darius could finally be summoned, they no longer had to worry about being unable to handle whatever situation arose from his absence.
Cyrus called for a meeting of the council due in two days and as expected, calm was partially restored when everyone learned that the king would be back in time for the meeting. At sunset, he went to the frozen lake where he knew Kyrah would be watching the sunset. Then he saw her, sitting dejectedly on the rock with worry written all over her face.
"What's wrong?" He approached her.
"That little…" Kyrah raised her head. "I should have killed her when she was born."
"I assume you are talking about Delaney." He took a seat on the rock beside her. "What did she do?"
Kyrah picked up the grimoire from beside her and showed him the space where Delaney had plucked off a page. "She just rendered it useless."
